Serious question about Rape.?

I think you could only answer this question with experience. My own thoughts would be that the child is innocent though and I would hope that that would help me to raise the child in a loving and caring environment. I would think thats what your mum thought. I bet your glad she did! Try not to dwell too much on how you were conceived, thats not your fault either. Just love and respect your mum for the decision she made.

that is a hard question and the best answer would be from one experienced in this area. As a man, i can never fully understand and wouldn't pretend to.

I can tell you for certain that the baby is innocent, no shadow of evil or crime attaches to them. if a woman gains attachment to the child and loves it, then that power of love will overcome the crime. A friend became pregnant after being raped and refused the abortion but did give the baby for adoption, which we understand.

nobody knows until they are in that situation, it depends on how strong a person you are etc.... your mother loved you enough to keep you, that is a good sign hun, dont feel bad for that.... afterall, a baby is a baby, living, breathing......its hard to tell, people react differently

As a man I consider my answer to hold less value than those of the women who have answered. I would like to say it is a very interesting question, not a scenario or an issue I have ever encountered.

I would say I don't value the comments made by those with a religious agenda.

I do understand you thinking in terms of not keeping the Baby. I also understand the reverse position as well.

I would be very interested to hear if you have spoken to you mum in detail about your fears.

I'm not sure if I'd keep the baby, it could be like its father or it could be something special. I don't think I'd abort because its not the babies fault you got raped neither is it your fault.

probably not especially since I am 17 and if I did get preganant I couldnt cope. although I would feel quite guilty, I dont think it would be that bad to get rid of the baby seeing as it was forced, and I think it would just create way too many problems within the family and stuff.

it would be a hard decision to make, i personally wouldn't keep it but it is still life, and many people will keep a baby regardless of how it became.
if the father is a rapist, the mother still can love the child and it can still have a decent life.

You have to remember that a woman who gives birth to a child through a criminal act is the mother of that child and as such it must be her choice as to whether she wants to keep it. The child is a human being and needs a parent, whether it is the natural mother or through adoption.

as an adult adoptee i have issues with abortion. I think it is too easy of an option and is used way too much. It should not be a form of birth control. It should be used only if the life of the mother is in jeapordy. I never met my real parents I do not even no my true race. I have photos of myself posted online and i have people asking me if I am Asian and I tell them honestly I do not know. From what I understand there has been something like 35 million abortions committed since 1973 when the action was made legal. That is a few million less than the entire population of California. Imagine the pain the baby feels as it goes through this procedure as it is murdered. have a nice day

Regardless of how you were conceived you were born and to you that is all that matters. From that point you have been just one of the worlds population and no better or worse than the massive majority.
There is nothing you can do about it and nothing to fear.

You are very lucky to be alive as most would terminate in that situation. Fact is you are here now so stop even bothering to think about it anymore, get on with your life and remember to make the most of it as you will never have another tonight.

i would keep it because god blessed you with the child and he gave life and no one has the right to take someones life away.
Also because the child hasnt done anything wrong. it didnt ask to be born.

Life is sacred, and any life is better than none. I would have the baby and raise it as best i could. God bless :)

It would depend on how old I was and where I was at in my life... right now? I would put it up for adoption.
