the head of GM ignored the market and chose to focus on selling SUV's because it was a quick buck....GM is on the verge of ruin, and it took a federal buyout to remove the CEO of GM. Isn't this in a nutshell, why American industry is all but extinct?

Your question can be dissected to the lowest form, what happens to a worker when the worker does not do his/her job or if he/she does her job inefficiently? They get fired. CEOs should be treated the same way instead CEOs get huge bonuses, what is with that? |

we can't just blame GM or any one thing unless we are willing to look at our self we are all to blame on some level because all of us have bought stuff that we could not afford by using credit cards or buying that home when we knew we could not afford it now it's all coming back to haunt us.It is a SHAME that the bonuses where payed out with the money from the gov but that was aig . GM only built what we americans wanted SUV's where the big thing even when we all knew they were gas eating monster we still wanted them the only thing that will save this is our willingness to get back to using money not credit and saving for what we want instead of buying every thing on credit |

Not entirely. American industry became too much trouble when it became comparatively difficult to administer, easier to send jobs over seas and make a fortune channeling our wealth over seas while corrupting and deregulating the financial sector- that's the Republican way. Survival of the least costly and the shortest route way toward wealth. |
