After my dad died when I was 16, My mom depended on me a lot to do stuff my dad would like work to pay for stuff, look after my brothers they where only 1 an 3 years old. I did that until I was 18 years old I couldn't take having my mom depend on me. I moved back to my home country, an I met the most wonderful women an we got married after 2 months of dating. We've been married 10 years an we have 7 wonderful boys. But I was recently back home, I thought I would go over an see my mom an brothers but my mom had nothing but mean an vulgar words for me. Saying stuff about me an my dad we both left her. I've talked with my brothers who are great guys, they want to come an live with me an my wife.

They said that they don't want to live with my mom anymore that she is mean to them. An her new husband is also mean to them she has other kids with him. Over the years I have sent cards an pictures of my family home an they always came back to me. I would love it if my brothers came an lived with me. But I think the hate my mom has for me will only grow deeper? An I feel she will hate my brothers as well if they leave? I don't know why she is still mad I didn't do anything wrong? My brothers are only 13 an 15 years old I don't know how it would work out to get them to live with me? Should I get a lawyer? They both pleaded with me to get them? I've been taken by child services twice before already.

If Mom/your brothers live in the US...
You'd have to prove Mom unfit, which takes a lot. The fact that they think Mom is 'mean' to them could or could not mean a darn thing. My teenager says I'm 'mean' whenever he doesn’t get his way, but I’m far from unfit. The fact that you were removed by child services years ago (obviously at least 10 years ago) is completely irrelevant. The fact that they want to come and live with you is also pretty much irrelevant (minors don't have the right to choose for someone other than their parents to have custody of them).

be sure to talk to your wife about it first ;)
from what you posted, does it matter if your mothers hate for you grows deeper? it sounds like she will start to dislike your brothers too. that is something to consider and talk to them about first. if they and your wife are fine with that, then adopt them! |
