Should I get a lawyer in Virginia or Indiana?

I would like to switch my separation over to divorce... a couple months ago I moved to Virginia. The separation was filed in Indiana, where I was originally from. So do I have to get a lawyer in Indiana or Virginia? I currently don't have a lawyer since I am not the one who filed for separation.

So your partner filed for a seperation; and now you want to file for divorce.

Talk to the county clerk's office. You should file in VA; assuming you have lived there long enough to establish residency

not sure about those states but in Texas, you have to live in the same location for at lest 6 months before you can file in this state for a divorce.
