The hotel that I was working for was at 40% occupancy. My manager agreeded that I advertise for the hotel. In less than 3 weeks I was able to double the occupancy , now at 80%. My Manager now seems rude with me and was talking about firing me or other clerk over an issue with a customer who did not pay for his room, It was not even my fault as I don't work in the morning. The district manager of that group is asking me to advertise for another hotel who is at 35%. I sent an email to that district manager explaining that I don't appreciate firing threat over something that I am not guilty for. Should I resign?

Why would you resign over something your not responsible for? That makes no sense.
Possibly, this manager is jealous over your accomplishment and is exhibiting that jealousy by being rude and giving you a hard time.
If that's the case and you resign, your giving him exactly what he wants. Keep your job, take every opportunity offered by your district manager to do more advertising and prove your abilities.
Possibly some day soon you'll be manager, I'm sure that's what concerns him, he sees you as a threat to his own position. |
