No, it should be compulsory in all schools. |

No, I think it acts as a security measure, especially in high schools where anyone could just walk in and do whatever. I think it makes the kids feel the same too, there's no opportunity for the rich kids to look different from the poorer kids. |

No, because with a uniform, no one can discriminate others for how they dress. Poor kids look just like rich kids, and no one can go dressed inappropriately. |

although we wish they were i agree that they should be a school rule. without uniform there would be kids with designer clothes and kids with mismatched tatty clothes. it shows the poverty divide and makes poor kids more vulnerable to abuse |

No. The bullying would be far worse if it was. |

No, I think it stops children with less money in their family look equal to those who are better off.
There is enough bullying, getting rid of school uniforms would make this problem even worse.

No, reasons they have school uniform, so you can be recognised easily if you "escape" lol, and also it eliminates bullying a little, kids can be merciless when it comes to fashion, plus most of them have no idea how to dress with style... Sorry .... |

No, with a unifrom, each child is more or less equal. There would be so much more bullying if they banned uniform eg. wearing the same clothes, not having the latest trends. It also tells the public when they see you where you are from, which inevitably stops some crime. |

No Because Less Fortunate People May Get Bullied Even More Due To There Clothes Style |

No - I think school uniforms are good. It takes the peer pressure out of "trying to keep up with all the other kids". It also takes some pressure off your parents, trying to buy all the "up to date" styles. I am all for School Uniforms! |

No, never, if anything, they should tighten up uniform regulations, so that everyone is identical, wearing same makes, shoes, everything.
Then the school bullies who thrive on putting people down would not be able to do so. |

I dont think they should be banned. But I do think that each school could decide if they will have uniforms. I also think that people could decide which school they want to attend. as long as they can get there from wherever they live. I think that if its a crappy school it will lose students, and be closed. Maybe it would be an incentive to be a better school. People shouldn't be forced to go to a crappy school because of where they live. And I think people could stop hiding behind uniforms. let the rich feel bad that they have more. maybe they could help some of the less fortunates to be equal. I think the bullys should be taught not to be like that. It takes everyone being on the same page for it to work though. Thats what I think. |

No. The clue is in the name: "uniform". By bringing everyone to the same level it helps to eliminate some of the conflicts, tensions and anxieties over whose parents are wealthier or poorer, who has the most privileged or deprived background, and so on.
School uniforms are not worn in US schools, and having watched a bit of US TV over the summer, I can tell you that there is a lot of anxiety in children and parents, and pressure from advertisers, to "look good" at school: "Buy these clothes and you'll be the most popular girl in school" (I'm not exaggerating).
After all, you're there to learn - it's not a fashion show. |

No School Uniform is good for discipline and creating unity within a school also limits bullying over who has more expensive clothes and fashion. |

Why? better then trying to keep up with the current trends which appear to change from week to week! |

No. I think even sixth formers should have to wear the uniform as well. |

Two reasons why not.
It's often the cheapest method of clothing children, some of whom WANT, not would like, the very latest expensive garments.
Secondly schools having uniforms tend to be prouder of their image, achieve higher standards and erratic discipline also seems to be minimal, although someone is always able to quote rare extreme exceptions. |

No. I am all for the school uniforms. Kids have enough to worry about, without having to compete with what outfits to wear, etc.
That aside, I look damn fine in one, lol. |

Bullying still happens to kids wearing uniforms. The smallest thing can lead into a kid being teased and tortured. His pants could be too small or something. Non-uniforms is better because it allows a kid to express him or herself freely. |
