You get a resounding no on that one!!! Such a law would put ridiculous strain on the medical staff and administrators of every hospital in the US to hire, or keep on per Diem basis, a licensed doctor from every country in the world. This would be nearly impossible to achieve. |

As a patient, you have a right. You, however, aren't guaranteed the "best" Dr. just because you choose him based on his country of origin or ethnicity. Some of the best Dr.'s are foreign, some of the best are American.......... It's you're right to choose your Dr. but not necessarily the right move....... |

Well, does the hospital have the right not to treat you? I would say that it should have the right to throw you out if you are not content with what they can or are willing to offer you (except for emergencies where they are obliged to treat you).
It is a business. They can either serve you or not. They can even comply with your wishes, but they cannot be forced to serve you. |

Yes, some people just feel more comfortable with someone of their own ethnicity. It's not that they're racist. It's a matter of personal preference. There could also be a language barrier which could cause problems in communication.
No matter what, a patient should have the right to pick his/her doctor. |

A patient has the right to request it, but it may not be possible for a hospital to provide it. They don't have huge closets where there is a doctor of every race, creed and gender for every speciality just waiting to be requested. |

The only "right" you have, is to have your personal physician as your attending physician at the hospital, IF he is an accepted practitioner there. Even if this is true, the hospital will assign you a resident doctor. |
