This question seems to assume a great number of things
First....that people who seek public office HAVE an intelligence to test
Next.. that people who have higher IQs would in some way make better .... what ? public servants..... rulers ? administrators ?
What about these people's integrity and honesty.... what about their heart for doing the right thing by people... and their job ethics ratio....
AND... while we test these people... who will set the standards that we test them by ? Other people from "public service" ?
I think we better leave things the way that they are....
AND
encourage the people themselves to look into these folks a little closer than they've been doing of late....
Then... and ONLY then... will we start getting a better class of "public officials"....

I.Q. doesn't really measure your smartness haha
it was created for check & balances of people |

No but perhaps we should consider some type of political knowledge test for people to be qualified to vote. We are the ones that put these people into office and then leave them there for years and years. |

The I.Q. test is invalid, and cannot be determined to judge intelligence. I would prefer a person seeking office display a bit of common sense.
For instance, my kid brother has an IQ of 172, and is a drug addict and a dead beat dad. My older sister has an IQ of 112, and holds a job, saves money, owns her own home... |

Yes. Unfortunately though, IQ tests can't tell you who's honest and who's not. You should make them take polygraph tests too. |

Eh, politicians are always educated to the point where they'd have to be at least average to pass anyways. |

No, but if you were to run for one, they should give you the I.Q. test |

No. Those things are quite useless besides it is E.Q. test for politics. |

yes but they don't, look at the president |

Yes, a public official should have a complete battery of mental tests judging IQ, honesty, and judgement as well as a physical and drug and alchohol screens. Why should someone who wants to draw a public salary have to go through anything less than what a cashier at Sears takes? |

Do you really want the Republicans to be in control? |
|

Definitely!
If i could make up one rule at my previous job, it would be that, and give everyone a spelling test and an oral English test, just to make sure that they can carry out their duties without help!! |

Yes. Then show it to the Neocons and say, "We know your tricks! You are selling us the Devil." |
