Whether they are in an African rebel group, the Taliban, al-Qaeda, or any other armed militia, do you think that child soldiers should be held responsible for their actions while in these groups? Why or why not?

According to United Nations statutes, child soldiers (under 15 years) are illegal.
It is possible to prosecute a child for war crimes but they cannot receive the death penalty nor life imprisonment. Sometimes - like in Sierra Leone, Africa - they are considered victims as well as possible war criminals.
My opinion, yes. But I do agree that any punishment should be less severe. If a child in the US commits murder, they are also held accountable, but to a lesser degree, than if they were an adult. |

no i dont think so, children by nature are trusting of older adults, and are being taught and raised that what there doing is "okay". and plus we don't know the kind of things that the kids are being threatened with if they decided not to fight. |
