I don't care about your poxy constitution. If I visit the USA, I expect to retain my right not to be shot at or otherwise violated by gun carrying crazed individuals. Dump Charlton Heston and the NRA and start educating your children to live without fear and without weapons. |

Probably not, the ones who want guns will still have them. It would not reduce anything from what I can see. What we really need to focus on is our society. |

No we need guns to protect our selves and our stuff. |

Blaming these shootings on guns just detracts from the responsibility of the criminal for the crime he committed and makes about as much sense as blaming pencils for misspellings, cars for drunk drivers and spoons for Rosie O'Donnell's obscene obeisity |

what would be the point? You would just do what happened here and take away the rights of the many to enjoy a perfectly safe sport. Here in Briatain guns are pretty much banned but plenty of people are still getting shot. It doesn't solve the problem at all. All it does is stop law abiding people from doing something they enjoy doing. Why would someone intent on killing someone give a stuff about a law that says they can't? Prohibition fails. Always has, always will. these occurences are tragic but they won't be prevented by banning guns. |

It should have happened after the FIRST shooting like this. In the UK things changed after Dunblane, too late for my mother though who was killed with a gun in 1988.
Gun crime is rising again in the UK, if people want guns they can get them, even if guns were banned in the US, people would still be able to get them. Drugs are illegal but look how many people are using!!!
there must be more control though, how many times are we going to see this type of thing on the news? |

If just one person in Norris Hall had been armed and used his licensed weapon to take out the shooter- how many people would have been saved.
You can't blame murder on the weapon- if he had driven his car into a packed cafeteria would we be screaming for tighter regulations regarding the licensing of drivers or the purchasing of cars?
It appears that what would have stopped this shooter was for him to have been denied entry into this country in the first place.
Edit: Amen to Feed me |

No, we like our guns, we like to hunt. Just cause some nut case took two and went to school doesn't mean we need to change the books. There are already enough laws on the books. If no guns are around, the next nut case will use gas, or some other means to kills. The Media is a big problem... If they would stop talking about it and stop sticking the camera in peoples faces, people would so called issuses would find something else to do. |

Of course it wont help, IT DIDNT HELP IN THE UK gun crime is worse than ever.
If that guy hadby got hold of a gun, he could have used a sword, a knife,a bomb, a car or anything else. The guy was the one who decided to go and kill a lot of people, the gun didnt talk him into it |

Banned or not, yesterdays shooter and anyone else with a buck could still get them... |

Never happen!!! The NRA will protest and say their usual mantra- " Guns don't kill people, people kill people"
People will scream from the rooftops about their 2nd amendment rights are being violated, even though I can't see what the big deal is about waiting a few days to buy a gun to make sure the people is NOT an ex-con with no right to purchase a gun or to make sure the purchaser isn't a non citizen such as a non immigrant or a nutjob who can turn around and kill senselessly with the newly purchased weapon but then that's just me. The regulation isn't denying them the gun, it's just making sure they have the RIGHT to buy it. It is not seen that way. |

No, Criminals will find other ways to murder. Why not ban kitchen knives or severly control them after all the stabbings we have in this country. |

Guns should've been banned many years ago. |

Yes, and after the guns were taken, the violent crime rate went way up. Just like it did with Austrailia, just like it did with Canada. Should guns be banned? That school was all about gun control. It was a "Gun Free Zone". Didn't freakin work did it! You think you make people safe by taking away their self defense?!! You are a tard. |

Brilliant, SKIP G. You cannot change the Constitution. Especially the Second Amendment. |

What would the point be? People would still get them if the really wanted them. But think of this...even if there was a way to enforce a no-gun policy, don't you think people would get creative? They would use knives, clubs, rocks, chemicals, whatever they could get their hands on to accomplish their task. |

And have gun crimes rise like they did in England? No thanks - I don't want to live in fear of armed criminals.
A citizen is responsible for his own immediate defense of himself, his family and his property. A citizen is always the first line of defense of society.
A subject isn't allowed that responsibility. |

GUNS SHOULD BE BANNED!!! I FIND IT HARD TO BELEIVE THAT A COUNTRY AS FORWARD AS THE US HAS SUCH A BACKWARDS APPROACH TO SOMETHING AS SERIOUS AS THIS. GUNS SHOULD NOT PLAY ANY PART IN A CIVILIZED WAY OF LIFE.WE CAN ALL GET ALONG JUST FINE WITHOUT THEM. I LIVE IN THE UK BY THE WAY. |

A responsible, Licensed "conceal-and-carry" permit holder could have saved dozens of those lives.
Texas pioneered laws allowing citizens to take classes and earn the right to carry concealed weapons. This was done in response to a mass shooting in a Luby's restaurant. When the bad guys don't know which of their potential victims is going to vigorously defend him/herself, they tend to think twice about their plans. |

no, more guns less crime, you cannot change the constitution and the great part is I still have my assault rifle |

as long as the N.R.A have a powerful lobby, gun control laws will not vary much in the USA the right to bare arms is in the constitution which is nearly 300 years old what is neaded is for the American people to vote on a change to the constitution which in its time was there to offer the american people a means to protect themselves from invaders from other countries they did not expect people to use this right to shoot each other. |

Of course any sane society would ban handguns and semi-automatics but we are not talking about a sane society, we are talking about the most paranoid society on earth and if they want to bear arms and waste each other then that of course they should be allowed to do that. |

Another example of how absolutely fkd up the USA is. This is a country where it is 'normal' to bear arms, a country where the
c unt of a president feels so mutha fkin sorry that this keeps happening but at the same time is a big part of americas gun culture. Im sorry, i have complete sympathy for the victtims and their familes but the USA as a country is not the best country in the world as american slike to think, in fact nowhere near. kiss these nuts man. |

I agree with you--all handguns should be banned since they are not the 'firearms' mentioned in the Constitution.
I remember when Kennedy was shot--I thought guns would be banned then. When the carnage of the sixties was over, and even Bobby Kennedy was dead, I was incredulous at the national support for individual violence; this country has not progressed since the 'wild west' days.
However, one can only hope. If this shooting results in any real restrictions, at least those people will not have died in vain. |
