I am in high school and some kid took a water bottle (i didn't have time to tell if it was full or empty) and struck the bottom of it directly to my new glasses pretty hard. There doesn't appear to be any obvious scraches, but i am very upset about it. I know it's kind of a minor thing, but this is like someone just grabbed someone's ipod and threw it to the ground and walked away.
Also, there was some coating on the glasses and i don't know if that could have been damaged. Plus, the impact probably bent my glasses, and it would be impossible to rebend them to where it was before.
Do you think he should pay- say- 1/10th of the price of my glasses? (if so, i will ask my dean about this).

Sounds like a bully to me, or at least some angry tendancies. Kids like this need to know that they cannot treat people this way. Letting him get away with it could cause others more severe pain. He needs to learn that for every action there is a consequence. Talk to your dean about him paying for them, out of respect for yourself. |

yes the kid should pay. as far as i can tell, you didn't do anything to provoke the attack, so he should pay for what he did. |
