I hold the freedom to read the books I want to and to believe what I want to. I also respect other people enough to live and let live and read their books and believe their way as well.
I also know that my values, beliefs, and judgements have changed over the years to reflect what my experiences have taught me - about myself and the world around me. And that has been to seek and create greater harmony. |

No because being charged with "thought crimes" is wrong--no matter how offensive, dumb, or crazy a thought may be. |

No, it shouldn't be a crime. It's a really stupid thing to do, but not a crime. If we jailed people because their thoughts/beliefs were different than ours, we'd be no better than them. People are free to have their opinions, no matter how stupid they are. |

Though blatantly incorrect and ignorous, it should not be a crime. Everyone has a right to their own oppinion. If it were illegal, it would be a form of dictatorship. The first ammendment to the American constitution mandates this right. |

The denial of any historical event should not be a crime. If I want, I should be able to deny that the global temperature is on the rise...it would be kind of stupid but not against the law. |

'The thing about the Nazis is they used to jail people for ideas'
So do the communists, They are both totalitarian doctrines and have more in common than separates them. The main difference being that the Nazis were more honest about their racism. |

Holocaust Denial is a criminal offence across the European Union, not merely here in UK.
Beware of the Thought Police.
The English Puritans had a saying which went something like this. . . ."The thought is as the deed. . . ." So, if you or any of us dare to read or think something which is not approved of by the "Puritans" (UK.gov) then be ready for the consequences of your own vile actions. . . .
It's a crime to think anything which has not been approved first by Big Brother.
The UK.gov is lead by a mind control freeek. Otherwise known as Big Bros. . . .
Now for something completely difference : -

no, people are entitled to their own thoughts and ideas. Classifying this as a crime is as bad as the nazis and their ideas |

Holocaust denial should not be a crime. But those who deny the holocaust should be prepared to deal with the evidence when confronted with it.
It is a simple matter of freedom of thought, and freedom of speech. |

Hey, if you want to let crazy people play with your mind...be my guest. |

No, because that would make those misguided people mean something and they don't, i would say that let them have their say, after all there is enough evidence out there for us to know the Holocaust did happen and death camps where people visit to know that this terrible time in history was a fact. |

a denial is a personal opinion

No, I find it distasteful material. However, banning books is not the solution. |

There is a big difference between having an idea, and being an @sshole! |

No. Freedom of speech includes the freedom to speak stupidly. |
|

Sssh! its a secret. :)
 |
In reality, no. In theory I wish! Look, by Evelyn Beatrice Hall said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
That is a right I believe everyone should have. There are so many idiots out there saying crap, but they have a right to say it. It's up to the rest of us to be mindful of what they say. |

No, stupidity cannot be made illegal. There are not enough jails for this to happen. |

No you can say and be most anything you want i e; YOU ''Marxist'' why do you like to be on the losing side? |

Liberals make me laugh

In the US you can deny anything from the moon landing, to the holocaust, to France never surrendering in battle.
You'll look silly and people will laugh at you, but you can do it. |

No it shouldn't. I have argues this for years and it generally falls on deaf ears, however freedom to discuss a past historical episode shoud not be a crime. Makes you wonder why they made it illegal in the first place?
I do not deny the Holocaust however theres more questions than answers regarding it, and add on the fact it is illegal to deny it (wtf, thought crime!) somethings just don't add up or are not as black and white as they are made out to be.
Remember "He who wins the war, writes the history". |
