I think this belongs in the Etiquette section rather than the Law & Ethics section. |

Yes.
Integrity is the only real gift we can give ourselves or others.
If your word is no good, what good can you possibly be to any relationship?
Hope you learn from this lesson. |

Yes, you should feel guilty. You lied and the consequence to a lie is to feel at least guilty and ashamed that you did it. Next time, either keep your original plans with your "best" friend, or be man enough to let him know. In effect, you are taking your best friend for granted and treating him poorly. If the new person is that important to you, then I am sure you can find new ways to hang out with him in the future.
Since a lot of people use the pitiful excuse that you did about forgetting the earlier plans, he probably got mad because he determined (rightfully) that you were actually telling a lie and dumping him for the other person. While it sounded like a good excuse to you at the time, that excuse is as easy to see through. |

no way, dont feel guilty. it really doesn't matter. the best thing to do would be re-scheduling the sleepover with the friend you don't hang out with much, or telling the truth to your other friend, because you guys already hang out all the time. don't worry though, it's not a big deal. |

is this a full out lie or a white lie or just protecting someone from the truth no harm done.?
In my opinion a lie is a lie no matter how small and the motivation behind it, My husband and I have a brutal truth policy meaning to tell the truth at all times even if it hurts, so if I ask do I look fat in this if I do he will say yes.
Should you feel guilty or not is up to you |

No not for a month. Maybe that night, or a few days. Is your friend still mad? There is nothing wrong with not being around someone. If your friend is still mad about it, maybe he isn't even your friend at all. Just talk to your friend! |

dude.....who cares. No, you should not feel guilty. One thing you should learn in life is that your needs and desires come first before anyone else. |

I think you should forget about it. It was over a month ago. |
