i do not mind paying the fine for the ticket, its just the insurance increases that i want to avoid, and the fact that im 19 and apparently in NH any moving violation brings a license suspension for 30 days. so i also want to avoid that. i have been told MANY different things to do and quite frankly am completly lost. please help.

Go it alone. Hope that the cop that issued the ticket doesn't show up, plea not guilty case done. If he does show up, explain your side of what happened then ask the officer if you can see the calibration results from the radar that caught you speeding. Radar equipment have to be calibrated on a daily basis in order to consistently be accurate. If he provides the court with a current record then so be it, if you don't at least try, you will never know. |

You can go to court alone, it's not worth the attorney. Honestly, before you walk in the court room they already know if they're going to remove the ticket from your record, reduce your fine, or do nothing at all. Just show up, dress well, and be respectful. Say you understand you messed up and you'll be more careful in the future. Good luck. |
