No, it should be required that a lawnmower operator must be intoxicated. |

If it is on a riding lawn mower it is illegal as it is a motorized vehicle and can be cited for DUI even on your own front lawn, but not highly likely unless you pose a danger to yourself or others or try to place Deathrace 2000 and try to mow down your friends, family members and pets gunning the motor and yelling "you are worth 20 points"! |

Well, driving a rider mower on a public street while drunk could certainly get you a DUI because it is considered a motor vehicle. After all, a rider mower doesn't go that fast but if you run over a pedestrian you're liable to make chop suey out of him (or yourself, if it overturns). You generally can't be charged with DUI if you're operating a motor vehicle on private property drunk, though a few states have recently changed their DUI laws to include private property as well as public roads (too many drunk drivers are getting away with claiming immunity just because they were stopped in a gas station or some other private parking lot). I don't know if it should be illegal to mow your own lawn drunk, but it's incredibly dangerous. I've known people who have had horrible accidents with getting fingers or toes chopped off by those things even though perfectly sober, just because they didn't watch what they were doing. A lawn mower (whether a rider or a push-mower) is a heavy power tool and should be respected as such. |

lmao its legal....and it should be as long as its on your property.....**** i dont care if you go and drive a car in the field or some dirt road (private road)drunk as hell....as long as you own the land then your only putting yourself at risk.....and anyone you invite to join you i guess but that's their problem |

As long as it's not being driven in the middle of a public street or plowing into someone else's property, there's no legal problem. But it's still not a good idea to do. The guy can do damage to his own property, and possibly cut off his fingers or other valuable appendages. |
