I really don't know the answer to your last question. I don't even know why marijuana is illegal. I certainly think it should be legalized, not because I use drugs, but because people tend to use marijuana MORE and there's a higher demand for it BECAUSE it is illegal. Which sounds absurd, but it's true.
There isn't a problem with drug abusers in Europe and marijuana is legal (in most parts) there. |

It should not be legalized to the general public.
Marijuana affects your senses that translate to more DUI.
There is enough killing in accident due to the alcohol DUI.
And with smoking marijuiana legal, more accidents and deaths may results. |

No. What good would that do? This is not a religious or moral comment on my part. Think of the damage to health and property and all the other social problems it would cause to families. |

I think they should legalize it in the US and Canada. It is a huge industry and the government could be taking taxes for all the sales and then us poor folk wouldn't have to keep paying such high taxes on other stuff. It isn't any worse than alcohol in my opinion. |

no i don't want a bunch of drugged out idiots around driving cars and having to work with some idiot that just got high on his/her lunch break i also think alcohol should also be illegal their are to many drunk drivers on the road |

You have to look at this issue from a very pragmatic view: It was fairly obvious that after a few years of prohibition, the negative effects of outlawing alcohol ( Rise of organized crime, bribing of government officials, rise in murder rates, etc.) far outweighed the negative effects of legalized, government regulated alcohol use.
I don't have the official numbers handy, but I think with the number of people serving time for weed and other crimes committed by drug dealers; we are at the point that we should look at decriminalization or legalization.
$7.6 billion dollars annually are spent by the government fighting the use of marijuana.
This money could be much better spent. This figure is not counting the tax dollars the government could make by regulating the industry. |

yes, for medicinal purposes. Medical studies have shown that it helps in the treatment of chronic pain (i.e. in Multiple Scelosis) |

?
|
yes, because it would solve some major crimes in the USA, young people would not be serving mandatory 15 year sentences for doing something George W Bush has done,,,,
the drug smugglers would be out of business, the pushers and the dealers,,, and most intelligent people know, the more something is considered wrong, or illegal, the more human beings want to try it, with our current laws, the poor go to prison while the rich go on partying,,,,,,,,,,,,, |
