I am writing a research paper for my intro to law class and am leaning towards that schools shouldn't be able....if you have any information or reasoning for this topic, please share :) I appreciate it :)

In regards to public schools, which are part of the government, there must be a line drawn as to the limitations on their power. To be able to regulate the actions of someone off campus and after school hours is a significant leap towards total control of students' lives. The Constitution has been interpreted to protect from government intrusion in our homes. |

As an old fart new to the medium, does this mean that many kids are incapable of retaining a social identity short of typing their fat fingers on a key board? Isn't this a form of as yet undescribed mental illness for which we have yet to appropriate another form of disease? Get them off of their butts, for starters and you would be surprised at the miracles that they may perform. Coddling leads to dysfunctional schizophrenia. |

i don't think they should.. in my opinion my school can only regulate what i do 7-2, M-F. But even so, my HS suspends kids from sports if they're at a party with alcohol and i'm pretty sure you can get in trouble if you get in a fist fight off-campus, so regulating cyberbullying seems right up their ally. |

Yes they should regulate it . I saw a show recently it was quite
intense... a lot of interviews and talk with families and children and
teenagers affected.
Some with very Sad endings. We have all , i believe had turns or
came close to treating others in a bullying manner. But most know
when to quit or stop from that moment on.
Imagine then being on the other end ... and having non stop bullying
directed at you not only verbally,face to face that is, then not only by the random ones [ like us above ] not only the constant ones who
never miss a day to abuse you..... but then even having to deal with
cyberbullying. NOt everyone is that strong. |
