It already is where I live. People are not happy, but they'll live. |

Absolutely, totally, completely yes. Especially as Americans whine about health care. |

I know many people dislike smokers, but wait until you get your rights taken away. Watch for scales at McDonalds, to be allowed to eat there. This is an even bigger health issue. |

It is in Colorado Springs.
Personally, I like it. You can go to places and not come home smelling like smoke. For the people who are allergic to smoke it's very nice because they don't have to worry about being so far away from that side of the restaurant.
Edit: At first it did hurt business but then it picked back up again. People who never went to bars or Bingo suddenly figured out they could because they didn't have to worry about the smoke. |

Smoking has been banned here in New York for some time now. Now if you light up be ready cause the smoking police may get the drop on you. You must be out side and in some cases in a smoking designated area. I myself am a smoker and i long for the days when i could go to the coffee shop and sit down and have a cup of coffee and a Smoke while reading the morning paper. we have gone way to far to politically correct. |

it is outlawed in ohio. and it really hasn't had that major of an effect on business as some people may think!!

Smoking should be outlawed in work places, in the name of employee safety. That was the california approach and so any bar that has employees bans smoking. There is one little place I know of that is run solely by the owner. He closes at lunch time and dinner time to go home. He allows smoking and so the only people there are he and the customers, both of whom volunteer for it. |

Smoking should be outlawed in most public places you mentioned and where children are present and responsible adults should not smoke in there homes if other non smoking adults object or if children are present. Smoking gives off pollution, let alone the obnoxious order.
Should smoking be outlawed? Can stupidity be outlawed? No but I would like to see tobacco companies use there wealth and with scientific research find better uses for tobacco and still pay taxes and provide employment. |

Yes, i think so in some areas it not fair to cut off the smokers but its also not fair that the non-smokers have to sit in it. |

I believe so as it is a disgusting habit that imposes itself on everyone around you.
However, there are two places I am aware of that prohibits smoking in public places (New York and Ohio) like restaurants and bars and it has hurt business considerably. |
