This is the most basic requirement in the court of justice. Cases remain pending for years together, and the culprits enjoy the full freedom with their money power. If due to shortage of judges, lawyers, court rooms, lack of finance, etc are the reason for not setting a time limit, then at least those cases involving politicians, celebrities, industrialists, and other moneyed people should have a time limit. Our politicians know that for any crime they commit, cannot indict them due to this loop hole in the justice system. They drag on the cases by appointing good lawyers year after year. The irony is, these politicians only makes the laws in the parliament, so it will never happen that they will dig their grave by themselves. |
