Should there be a white history month?

It's for whites.
The white people are supposed to study black history.

But I will bet you would be hard pressed to find black person under the age of 45 or 50 or one that is not a college student that has read the "Autobiography of Malcom X."
Cause it isn't about booty call, killing, or slapping bee eye itches upside the head.

i think we should do away with black history month and all special months no one race is suposse to be better than another , but anymore if your not black,gay,female,hispanic etc. you don't get crap if i a white person apply for a job and a black person applies for the same job the black person gets it do to what they call diversity which is legalized discremation against white people

They get special treatment because they whine a lot.

If we make a "White History" month, they'll get all up in our faces about the horrors of slavery 200 years ago that only 1/3 of them had relatives involved in, and then we'll have to cater to them more just so we can get them out of our faces.

Never forget that every black criminal is innocent until a white man is proven guilty of some kind of hate crime.

Antmanbee is right -- black history month is for whites and other non-blacks. It's to celebrate diversity and to educate. And no, they aren't looking for "special treatment." They're looking for equal treatment.

yeah, but think of all the good things whites have done to. Civilization as we know it, running water, toilets, forrest gump, america, modernization of the world, medicine, cars, plains, trains, automobiles, and so much more. the only way we figure if a black person invented something is watch a commercial on disney. what have blacks given us anyway? the south? rap? overcrowded jails? peaunut butter, story tellers? Africa? all things i could do without (except peauntut butter) besides, would any black person now rather be in africa.

Somebody in the government who knows how to count should abolish minority favors. White men need food stamps now just as much as blacks, koreans, etc......We are all Americans in these United States. Our senate, and congress reflect many nationalities, and some other countries. It is becoming time to treat white people as our equals. Education should supercede government, science, and religion on the slates. We should all contribute to world elevation, not competition leading to classes that leave societies poor and hungry. We are all human, an outside threat to our beings, would draw the near and far together, regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation,....etc....... So, we need to build together now like our future depends on the defense and sanctity of our world will prevail. We are our own super power, Earth VS........? Let's get together.

I don't think it is a good idea to have a white history month. It seems to me that in the USA it is white history month for all twelve months. I am white & I share in the advantage of the majority.

Black history month is to celebrate great black people like Martin Luther King; Mrs. Elsa Parks; George Washington Carver & others. These folks made a difference; why not celebrate their lives & achievements?!!

I would have no problem to celebrate women, gays, Mexicans, etc. We are all human & different. Let's celebrate the differences in others and ourselves.

Black history month does not demean "whites". Each group has good reason to be proud & share that pride with the rest of us.

Okay let's review "white history". Whites: massacred millions of native americans to get their land, enslaved an entire group of people for 300 years, implemented segregation laws after freeing these people, put chinese-americans in concentration-like camps, and are trying to deport millions of people to their native country. Yeah children should definitely learn about all this in school. If you want them to be distrustful of the white race in general.

White history is too general. Black history (in the US) describes a group of people primarily from the south that had descended from slaves and who originally came from Africa. (In addition it includes other direct and indirect African immigrants - however, these are the minority)
White history would include a large group of different Europeans with very different histories. Italians, Irish, English, etc. all had their distinct history, and only recently have become associated. Spending time dedicated to all their histories would be beneficial. But, do we really need a month for all this?

I think we are better off leaving things just as they are. That does not make them "special" as you call it. either.
I think they fought for this Black History month.

If you look at American history books you will notice it is dominated by white males. Perhaps some black people were offended by this and they wanted to create a month to display thier history.
