As tempting as that sounds, I suspect that the ACLU might object somewhat.
It kind of falls into the same category as sterilizing single mothers on the welfare dole that have two or three kids with two or three different fathers. Sounds reasonable since we are supporting the kids - but, somehow, it is a violation of their rights.

As for testing on inmates, I couldn't agree more.

But the castration thing? I'm not too sure but that's not to say i don't agree. I just haven't thought about it enough :S

It's an interesting punishment, has a middle eastern flavor to it (like cutting off the hand of the theif who steals bread with it). Unfortunately, that would be seen as a cruel and unusual punishment, and the ACLU, and other criminal coddlers would have a fit.

On top of all of that, the impulses that drive these deviants would not be shut off by castration. If you took away their manhood, they would use something else to violate their victim. They get a charge out of destroying innocence and feeling powerful.

I like the lab testing bit best. Perhaps the former could be a part of the latter.

They chemically castrate some of them, but this is a sickness of the mind therefore they should have a lobotomy. They used to test inmates, but their civil rights have interfered with this.

Rape and child molestation is really not about the actually act. It is about anger and control... So it more then likely wouldnt help unless you cut there hands and feet also... They do have medical medicine that makes a rapist unable to perform...
