Should this man be in court for horsewhipping his children?

He wouldn't get much of a sentence for hitting his kids, for beating his wife on the other hand he could go down for assault. Chances are she wouldn't admit it though. To answer your question: yes, he should go to court (but I doubt it'll happen).

Well he is, isn't he? The verdict will answer your question. Apart from the law which has obviously been broken, how can it be right to use any weapon on a child? A riding crop is a whip. A whip is a weapon.

He IS in court, isn't he? And darn right, too! Courts protect people who cannot protect themselves (children, and the mentally ill). Seems to me, the police and the courts, in this case, are fulfilling their mandates to protect the best interests of the children.

From what I could gather in the story, he /is/ in court. Anyway, even if he has done absolutely nothing to harm his kids and partner physically, he obviously has mentally and deserves punishment. Again, this is the only story I've ever seen on this case and it could be inaccurate.
