I agree that it should be legalized and treated like alcohol is treated. Meaning you'd have to be at least 18 to buy it. You could only smoke it either at home or at a weed "bar'.

I do agree that we should legalize marijuana cause IMHO it's nowhere near as dangerous as alcohol or any other narcotics.

Plus them legalizing marijuana should help our economy get back on track.

First, it's not proven to be non-habit forming. People do get addicted to marijuana, my brother is one of them.

Secondly, I do think it should be legalized. People should be able to grow it for private use.

Yes but it will not happen anytime soon because the government can't make money off it like they can with the legal drugs and alcohol; not to mention a lot of people like mental health, personal trainer,drug companies, the D.E.A and the columbian drug lords would be out of business. Hell with weed being legal we would be some weed smoking, highly intellgent, fat and happy people with out a care in the world people.

Alright. let me list the reasons it shoul be legal.

-As you said; not habit-forming or addicting
-Way fewer health hazzards and negative health effects than say, tobacco, alcohol and some perscription drugs that may be substituted w/ marijuana
-as you said; there is no possible OD like with other drugs or even alcohol and caffeine pills
-It relieves anxiety in most ppl
-Already in use for medicinal purposes in certain states with no reported negative side effects
-It is NOT a gateway drug as some believe(as you said above; its not addictive nor does it raise levels of tolerance)
-it relieves a host of other symptoms such as nausea.
-Some cultures are by law, alloud to use it for spiritual practices anyway.
-----Safety reasons on why it should be legal------
-crime will be somewhat reduced
-marijuana users will not have to go through a drug dealer to obtain it
-a user will now be able to buy it from a store, knowing where it comes from and what's in it Vs a user getting it off the streets in dangerous settings and not knowing what could be laced in with it.
-Stores will not sell merchandise to customers unless the customer can afford it; Vs a drug dealer loaning weed to a user then extorting him for the money he owes plus a large interest through violent means
-ppl may still get killed or hurt over drug deals gone bad, but marijuana(which is harmless) will not be to blame like other drugs, like Crack.
-will not seem so alluring to the public once it is obtainable through legal means
-it will somewhat relieve some of the strain against the war on drugs-because Marijuana will now either be legally cultivated on our land or legally imported and will be inspected by the FDA.
-More attention will then be focused on those who deal/traffic or buy the dangerous stuff like coke, heroin or crack.

-Yes, it may be taxed, but that will just mean that more taxes are going towards federal and local programs or the governmet, or towards the national financial defecit
-ppl will not be haggled by the law for posessing it(alot of ppl convicted of drug posession had weed and nothing else-thats all it took to marr some ppl's perfect police records)
-Marijuana stays in your system around 30 days from last use. so prospective employees should be able to now pass a drug test if they use it(so long as other drugs(illegal kinds) are not in there systems).
-wont be able to violate probation or parole now that it would be deemed legal
-DEA will focus more on the real problem causing drugs and their weelers and dealers
-Those who use weed or have used it in the past, will be less stigmatized by the public
------other miscellaneous crap on why it should be legal-----
-No reports on car accidents, work-related injuries or deaths directly associated with the use of marijuana
-temperary mood enhancer
-no pothead will be any smarter or any dumber than he or she would be without using it
-does not affect judgement or cognitive behavior
-The police dont really have the time or man-power to efficiently knock this all out anyway-they will now be working on more serious issues
-it does not make a person any lazier or unmotivated than he or she already is
-does not affect learning ability or learning retention
-does not impair attention span unless you are sensative to it(then u shouldnt take it)
-does not affect job performance; only a person's attitude will do that
-------ok, now to the Cons of marijuana--------
-It is has a strong odor(but so does cigarrette smoke and booze breath)
-reddish eyes(ew!)
-smell gets into your clothes and furnature(just like cigarrette smoke)
-some bratty kid might get a hold of Mom's weed and give his teacher weed brownies as a prank
-some folks may climb allover you for openly using it b/c of their own moral system and beliefs

ANYWAY....as you can see, if it were legal, the pros would outweigh the cons. So, it's obvious I agree that it is ok to use and should therefore be ok to legalize. Legalization would clear up alot of problems that are presenting themselves now while it is still illegal. I know my answer is long, but Im glad you took the time to read it. Thank you!!

I disagree about non habit forming and some of the pro pot propoganda.

I also disagree about it being illegal, because too much blood and money is wasted trying to enforce the stupid laws, when alcohol kills more people than marijuana ever could.

It is all politics, and it will not happen in our lifetime.

Absolutely agree 100%...alcohol is legal and causes way more damage and harm to our society!

Many people like to call marijuana a gate-way drug, but most people start with sneaking ALCOHOL! Talk to some addicts, watch a few episodes of "Intervention"...just because it's legal doesn't mean it's not bad. If there's truly any such thing as a gate-way drug, and people were honest about it, it's alcohol!

How can you people say this? I don't care who does marijuana, if you wanna wast like then go right ahead. What comes with smoking pot most of the time? the answer is crime. I know a lot of people wont turn to crime, but theirs always bad people who will. Is life really that terrible, to were you must smoke a plant that will make you not care about life. I know a lot of people who smoke marijuana, and really there going no were in life. Pot makes you forget that theirs more to life, then sitting around smoking weed all day. Why do you people need a drug, that's gonna expand your mind? Like I said is life really that hard?

Name me one person besides Joe Rogan who's going anywhere in life smoking pot?

Like I said if you people wanna do, then go right ahead. Really though, are you living life just sitting around smoking a weed everyday? Are you going anywhere? Does Weed, really let a person thing straight?

Look at the people who smoke up, and see how weed changes a person.
