Should we be allowed by law to charge Doctors for the time we spend over and above our scheduled appointments?

I have had to wait at times, 2 hours past my appointment time because the arrogant Doctor spends his time talking to his staff and basically screwing off before he sees his patients.

Not all Doctors are Surgeons.

What I hate is that the receptionist always gives you that lecture "You need to be here at least 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, etc"

Doctors are ALWAYS running late. Even if you're the first scheduled appointment of the day, you'll be seen late.

All you need to is get up and leave. Find a doctor that manages their offices better. We still have a free society for the time being.

No. But you do have the right to up and walk out and find a different doctor that doesn't "screw off" instead of seeing patients. There is no law that states you have to see the doctor you are seeing.

Also, file a complaint with the clinic. Believe it or not, clinics do care about their patients. Word of mouth is the best and most effective form of advertising there is. If patients have bad experiences with a particular clinic and the clinic does nothing to try to rectify the situation, I'm not going to recommend it to any friends or family, and will in fact specifically recommend they go to a different clinic.

Isn't the free market a wonderful thing!

<aside> I actually recommend my clinic to anyone that lives in my area. I have had nothing but prompt service from them. The longest I've had to wait in the waiting room is about 15 minutes, and usually about the same amount of time on a bad day once I get in the exam room and the nurse finishes taking the vitals.

as a doctor you are busy if some one comes to see you you might end up taking more of the doctors time say you go in for something you think is simple but a doctor could find out it is a bigger problem then he is going to end up spending more time looking at lab results and such and then there is emergency calls from other doctors maybe treating a pataint of his in the hospital etc and also pharmacy calls so dont be so down on your doctor what would you rather have a doctor who looks at everthing twice or one that says oh you have a virus when you really have cancer

Only if doctors are allowed to walk out of an operating room in the middle of an operation to keep a patients appointment.
