Yes, lets all return to the dark ages and while we are at it lets start burning witches again!! Community service is the answer but not the mamby pamby one we have now. It should be run on a more military style and offenders made to live in barrack style accommodation. I think the TV programme Bad Lads Army is a prime example of how peoples lives can be turned around if given a chance. Help these people see the error of their ways and teach them how to respect others and earn respect and help them to have self respect. You can not only beat the devil out of a child but you can also beat it in. People aren't born bad but they can go bad if parents and society fail them.

I think we should. I am all up for caning offenders as well. Two or three strikes might do the trick.

Well it could be a lot cheaper than sending them to prison but you would have to get rid of the human rights laws first, otherwise you'd just get a load of lawyers making lots of dosh out of suing the government for 'institutional bullying' and ritual humiliation.

Brilliant idea ! These idiots that think it's cool to be arrested and handcuffed in front of their mates in the city center would hate this. To be in stocks outside the town hall being pelted with the left over tomatoes from the market, maybe in their best chav clothing and being filmed for you tube on 100 mobile phones might be a bigger deterrent !

We should have National Service based on Netherlands model, where you either join armed forces at 18, or Peace Corps.

I have noticed every one has agreed yes i agree. The government should put it to us all to vote it back in after all we have to live with them the government don`t live with them. If we cannot have the vote move them into No 10. They will bring it back then.
