I don't think women should be penalized for having more than two children if they are capable of taking care of them. If it was a single mother working two jobs living in a tiny one bedroom apartment, you can see the difference. Hope the paper goes well.

I don't think they should be penalized, but I wouldn't oppose rewarding those with less to control population.

What are you talking about we are penalized when we have kids let it be one or more! Our bodies wreak havoc and never go back to pre pregnancy our finances suffer for 18+ years (some men can say that too lol) emotionally we at times are abused, but you know we get rewards along with the penalties and I wouldn't have it any other way. There is no need for the government or anyone else to penalize us our children do it for them :D

In a persuasive essay, just pick a side and argue hard.

If you decide pro-penalization, talk a lot about overcrowding, how the population of humans is using up resources, about how birth rates are higher in poorer countries. Address the concern that it would infringe upon freedoms by insisting that sometimes--as in gun ownership--we must put restrictions on personal freedoms for the good of everybody.

If you decide anti-penalization, talk about personal liberties and the sovereignty to decide what you want to do with your body. Claim that such a restriction wouldn't fix the problem: people would have more babies anyway, and they might have them away from hospitals or in secret or in other situations that would make it more dangerous. Claim it interferes with religious and moral beliefs. Address the concern of overpopulation, either by saying population is self-regulating or that the earth can actually support a lot more humans, especially considering recent technological advances.

No not at all. We have a right to have as many children as we want. That's the beauty of not only living in America but being human! Now obviously if the mother/family cannot support the children and starts leeching on the government then something should be done. I really don't know exactly what can be done but there has to be a better system out there then welfare (which was initially a fantastic idea but has since declined on it's effectiveness)

yes, because think of it this way: the world is getting larger (its actually already very crowded, and our world isnt getting any bigger) everyday and resources are DECLINING everyday so if more children are here, more products such as diapers and clothes that come from companies using oil/petroleum (which like all do) are going to use it and well you get the idea about the whole "the world is going to end soon"....and well you know, there's LOTS of homeless orphans that would LOVE to have a family, but because women are having kids of their own the worls is getting bigger WITH orphans, while it could stay the same WITHOUT orphans
