Yes, people say that women have the right to do what they want with their body. YEs that is true.. Go and get as many tattoos you want.. Go and get as many piercings you want.. Cut all your hair off, donor blood, any organs. Whatever it is, just include yourself in it. By this I mean, You can do whatever you want with YOUR life. That doesn't mean with others'. So, if a baby is coming and you don't want it, then you decide to kill him/her. You are hurting somebody else, and that is a crime.
Women have the right to do whatever they want with their body, but I don't think anybody has the right to KILL!

Like your new avitar but being a moderate, I still have to believe that it should be a woman's decision. The only times I have problems with abortion have to do with minor children having abortions without their parents' knowledge and consent, and after the second trimester.

Ah, no. The legal basis for the prevention of anti-abortion laws is privacy. A woman has a right to non-interference with the treatment she agrees upon with her doctor.

Clearly, there is debate as to the limitations on that privacy, and I'm not arguing that a fetus is not a human life. But your argument is not sound because you're comparing non-private, violent crimes with your real point, which is that a fetus is a fully legal-entitled human life.

You're not really arguing for rape, of course. But to craft a good argument, you need to focus on why abortion is legal. And that basis, according to Roe v. Wade is privacy and keeping the government out of what is viewed a medical decision.

So when all of these unwanted babies are born, should we send them to your house? These "human beings" are not even wanted before they are born, however you think that they will be magically want after they are born? Some of these people don't have the Patience or money to take care of these babies. There are already how many children who are abused and forgotten every day. Abortion is the best way for some of these women. Let it go and worry about yourself.

The reason abortion is legal and murder/rape are not is because a fetus is not a viable human being yet.

It may be someday, however it has no legal rights because it is still nothing more than a parasite growing inside of the mother. No matter how much you want it to be otherwise.

I would hope that no woman would ever want to abort their fetus. In cases of rape however, I would never want to force a woman to carry, and be forced to give birth to the spawn of that rapist. Nor in cases where the stress of giving birth or carrying the fetus to term would cause a woman to die.

Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. It should not be a form of birth control. Some women will abuse it, however it is not your choice to make. It is theirs.

Even though I personally don't agree with abortion, I do think that it is not the government's place to tell you what to do with your body. Yes, people make mistakes but unless you are willing to adopt some of these unwanted and neglected children I think you should only worry about your life not how to control others'.

I've read the bible and I have never seen anything mentioned about abortion. You must be thinking about what the church has brainwashed you into believing. The more people in the world, the greater the hunger, poverty, and disease. Is that living? Or are you just concerned about life in general. Go to a third world country and you will see the real problems that are associated with your pro-life stance. Most of those kids will die before they are 5 from some curable illness that they have no access to, or starvation.

Here's what I think... I don't know if you will like it, but its just my opinion... So don't stop reading it just because I'm not on the same level as you... I think that abortion REALLY should be legal, because if it were illegal, then people that needed abortions would still find ways to get them, but since it would be an illegal procedure, it would be MUCH more dangerous because the doctors might not necessarily have the right knowledge, tools, or experience to perform it, and if it is done wrong, it can really damage a woman's body.

Here's where I DO agree. It IS a woman's right to do whatever she wants with her body, and if she wants to live the rest of her life knowing that she killed a baby who would have loved her unconditionally and looked up to her and needed HER, then she has a STONE COLD heart and that's her own problem. I'm in 12th grade A.P. Lit and we just read this poem about abortion called "the mother." It was SO good. It was actually about why abortion is wrong... If I can dig it up, I'll email it to you!! Actually, I don't know if I will be able to email it to you on here... If I can figure it out, I will... I have to say, because I always say it when this arguement comes up, what about animals? People who are against abortion always seem to forget that they eat an animal every day who has the same intelligence as an unborn fetus. So don't go telling me not to have an abortion until you become a vegetarian.
