Son needs legal advice can't afford lawyer being sued for accident needs to plea who does he plea to?

He is being sued by his friend who was in the car and the mother who wasn't. Basically saying it was intentional. It was an accident in Dec. of '07. My son can't afford a lawyer and has to have a motion or plea by this Wed. the 15th. Who does he plea to the court or the suers lawyer?

At the time the only insurance he had was on the car only through the finance company. He had just started a new job and was waiting for payday to get the other insurance. I need to find out who he needs to file his plea with the court or the lawyer for the friend. the mother is even suing stating she witnessed the accident which she did not. there were no citations issued and no other vehicles involved. it was just an accident due to bad tires. she has already lied to her lawyer by saying she witnessed the accident and police report says she came up on it after the fact. So who does he plea to court or their lawyer?

It varies some from state to state, but he'll definitely need to file his responsive pleadings with the court. I would recommend sending a copy to the opposition's attorney at the same time just in case. In some jurisdictions you may be required to do this, and even if he's not required to do so it looks like a professional courtesy. It's never bad when the other side's lawyer likes you.

Usually, your insurance company defends the case. But, we do not have all of the facts in your question.

In criminal law, you have a constitutional right to council and council will be provided if you are determined indigent (cannot pay). There is no such provision in a civil case. You are unfortunately on your own. Pay an attorney or represent yourself.
