This is for the United Kingdom - though I now live in Wales.
I applied for, and received, a future State Pension forecast from Newcastle last March 2008. I have made some married woman's contributions and was also protected under the Home Responsibilities rule and also contributions have been made as I am now disabled. The future forecast I received last March told me I was entitled to £80 plus.
Someone from Department of Works and Pensions came to my house last week and told me I was not entitled to one penny of a State Pension.
I was confused - very confused as I have kept track of my pension status over the years - and showed the DWP man my copy of the Future State Pension Forecast from Newcastle.
He said he had checked the DWP computer that morning and there was nothing by it that said I was entitled to a State Pension.
He said I would be all right because I would get my money via Pension Credit because I was not entitled to a State Pension, so I would not lose out.
Has this happened to anyone else?
That is you have kept track of your State Pension over the years and got the Future Forecast, and then told when you apply for it that you are not entitled to one penny of a State Pension?
I really would like advice on this one.

write to the DWP and send copies of your previous statements to them to prove your claim. Do not send original copies (they get lost).
Seek advise from CAB or phone the helpline that deals with Pensions, they may have got your national insurance number wrong which can cause this sort of error. |

Pensions are in flux at the moment with retirement age rising from age 65 in the year 2010 so it would depend how old you are now
But you are covered by Pension credit so you will not lose out |
