They'll get caught eventually and then cry and whine about a police record. I saw a study last year that over 35% of people under age 21 think that it's ok to lie, cheat on tests and steal. This is what our country has become.
The answerer "Jessii babe" below is a prime example. |

oh no you di'int

when they get caught and you are with them, you will go to jail with them, find new friends |

Yes, they're bad people.
Stealing is illegal.
People who break the law are bad people; laws are in place to help.
You can help them by not encouraging it and letting them know you disapprove. |

You're friends are idiots. Stealing is a crime. Yes, they are bad people and we are known by the people we hang out with so...... |

Your friends are going to get busted. Make sure you aren't with them when they do it...they are going to get caught sooner or later. |

Regardless of their ages, they WILL get busted. When they go to the right store, at the right time, they'll have an experience they will never forget. It's just a matter of time. |

Talk to them about it. Shoplifting, whether or not they get caught, is not a good habit to be practicing. TRY GETTING A JOB if you want something that badly! |

Inform security the next time they do this. Life is the best teacher.... |

Try to talk them out of it. They WILL eventually get caught, that's the reality. It's not worth it. If they keep doing it, they'll start taking more and more and it really will lead to an arrest. |

Get them caught and then get them out and straighten them out :) |

My friend does the same thing at walmart. She steals Makeup and never gets caught. I dont know, i tell her to stop. |

This may not be a popular opinion, but I would say turn them in. It's better they get caught shoplifting something inexpensive and learn their lesson. Otherwise they will likely move on to bigger items and/or take greater risks.
You should also be aware that if you're with them when they shoplift and you don't say anything, you COULD be guilt of being an accessory. So at the very least you should think twice about going into stores with them. |
|

kornork

Maybe you should turn them in to the police. They are raising the prices for the rest of us! |

They are people who choose the wrong behavior. You cannot control them. I would refuse to go into any store with them until they've stopped.
They will eventually get caught, the odds will catch up with them. The consequences for their idiotic behavior will follow them for a while and could cost them a good future. It will certainly cost their families a lot of embarrassment and legal fees, far more than they could ever steal, and they will probably have to pay restitution on top of it. Not worth it for a few cheap thrills, but some people insist on learning the hard way. |

1. They will get caught at some point.
#2. If you keep hanging with them, you will also start stealing.
Be smart! Don't hang with people who are gonna turn you into the screw ups that they are. |

I had a best friend who shoplifted. I couldn't stop her from doing it because I'm not her mom you know, but she eventually got caught and I think she learned her lesson. Tell them that you don't like it and not to do it around you, but besides that you can't make them stop |

Tell them: What they do now can haunt them later. Tell them that if they get caught it's on their record and so if they want to ever:
Be a police officer
Work for FBI
Work with money
Work for a retail store
Sell real estate
They can't! Is stealing worth it? Is lipstick really that important that they are willing to jeopardize their future for it? Also, explain that you will not go in a store with them because you value your future. Also, I wouldn't trust them in your house and keep your friends as associates and find new friends if their behavior doesn't change. Good Luck! |

Help yourself by finding new friends unless you like being lumped in with a group of petty criminals. They will get busted soon enough. Hope you aren't hanging with them so you aren't arrested too. |

As her friend, if you have issues with what she is doing, tell her. Eventually she will get caught and this will go on her record and will affect future employment opportunities. Besides that, it just isn't right. If I were you I would not enter any store with her, you could be arrested as well as an accomplice, you don't have to be directly involved, if you are there, and you are aware, you will be viewed as guilty. |

Know this:
Most "security people" are law enforcement officers whom are moonlighting.
They are highly skilled in what they do and will sit for hours like a cat waiting for the proper time and place.
Your friends need to un-steal everything they stole.
Most states consider it a felony and it:
- will be a bar to future employment (at any job ever), and
- you can never get a license (even to drive a car) or
- a professional state license (for work)
- or vote.
- and they will have to explain the rest of their life: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY?
They will not even qualify to be a dog-groomer.
The joke's on them - big time. |

EVERYONE who shoplifts gets caught eventually, and thats when they will stop. i use to shoplift from boots (the make up store have u heard of it) and ******* hell ill never do it again. and yes there bad people. let jus hope there not christains lol. |

Tell them to stop.
Stealing is like Vegas.
You may win a few times. You may win a lot of times.
But if you keep coming back eventually you lose.
They will lose.
Tell them to stop while they don't have records. Not worth it. Think about it $5 here, $10 there..... blah. They could earn that by mowing lawns and/or babysitting quickly.
Tell them this.
Chris M. From yahoo answers PROMISES them if they keep doing it, they will get caught. Period. I'll bet them $10,000 right now that if they are doing it once a month in 1 year they will be caught. |

help yourself & avoid them, get new honest friends.
if you are in the store with them when they get caught the security guard will have a talk with you too. you might get banned from the store |

Unfortunatly you can not help them. When they do get caught they will go to jail. Never be able to get credit, buy a house, buy a car, and not get in to a univerisity. The job world will reject them. Please do not ever go in to a store with them or you will go to jail also. |

Just because someone steals something doesn't mean they are a BAD person, it just means they're doing wrongly. What they are doing is indeed illegal and needs to stop. You can perhaps tell them not to do that because it goes against not only the law, but THEIR values. If they continue to do it, stop being friends with them, or take a slightly more patient approach yet, and talk with someone you can trust like your parents. Ask them what you should do.
Hope this helps,
-Michael |
