I don't oppose gay marriage, but a beauty pageant is no place for a nutball like Perez Hilton to use politics as an excuse to punish a contestant.

She had her opinion. She stated it proudly and loudly. If Perez didn't like it, he should move on.

California has a lot of people in it. They are not all gay and they are not all flamers.

Absolutely support her.... whether I agree with her views on things or not, I'm very proud of her for standing up for what she believes in and not giving into the pressure of the "game" as Perez called it. I think she makes a good role model for everyone.

I say no.
Its great she has an opinion and stands by it,but hey,for Miss USA,people want a good representative of the USA.
Which means that,maybe more equality?And definitely some woman that will know exactly how to word her answer quickly,in a clever manner.someone smart,bright,and beautiful.Thats having brains and looks;something that is very very rare.

Not just blurt it out like some idiot.We all know that Perez is gay,so obviously,she should have chosen an answer with the same meaning,but just in a more subtle way.Different wording.Thats how you can tell if someone is clever or not,and I admit,most people,including myself,are not clever enough to represent the US.At least I stand up for equality.
And she said that in "her family,and country(or state,forgot which)".She spoke as if she was representing the USA already.And she brought in her family upbringings.My parents are very conservative,but it doesnt mean I have to follow their every opinion.
Point is,she shouldve have ANSWERED BETTER.Not very smart of her to just blurt it out.Im 15 and I know for sure I would have answered in a very different way.A smarter way.

Totally support her! She's strong enough to still be who she is at that particular moment and say what she truly believes, no matter how much pressure given to her to be politically correct.

In fact, Politically Correctness has driven people acting fake, and no longer true to themselves and others; Politically Correctness has driven this society to become more dysfunctional. Okay- So miss california goes to my Church in Point Loma, San diego CA. My pastor was on his way to NY to visit family and after miss California gave her answer Matt Lauren on the Today Show wanted to interview her in Ny. Just so happened that she was totally panicked and called the pastor just wanting some help. when she got to the airport the pastor just happened to be there also. You cannot tell me that this is not God's working the pastor helped her through everything because her parents weren't able to go and she needed help with her interviews. Oh yeah, by the way she came to church last Sunday and go on stage and told us about it. she is such a cute girl inside and out. and really just bbelievesin whatever she puts to her mind to a 1oo% I support her because she could have easily won miss USa but instead ssacrificedthat and went with her heart and she also said, I felt so alone up onstage and like i was 1 in a million and that was one of the sscary esttimes in my life Go Miss California!!!

Sure. I think she has the right to her own opinion. I think she could have said it better (we don't have choice and opposite marriage isn't the best phrasing) but she is first runner up to Miss USA so there is nothing to be ashamed of!

I think that the judge who asked the questioned responded like a child by recording a rant on his website. The question was approved and certainly not a shock, but a judge going off on a contestant is horrible.

I'm sure she'll be fine. She's a knock out girl. She'll have plenty of love.
