Suppose one of your family members is murdered, God forbid, and you know who the killer is?

Hi,
This is one of those questions where it is so difficult to predict your response unless this actually happens to you.

I want to say that it is never ok to take matters into your own hands.

That said, if a loved one was killed by accident, I would try to trust our legal system.

But in the instance of a serial killer, or some such, that tortured my loved one, and made them suffer greatly before they died..........I do believe that I could pull the trigger....... or I know someone that would.

Again, that is a pretty hard decision to predict....

what happens then ??? you've ruined your life for nothing..revenge is not sweet and it doesn't bring anyone back...the best thing to do , is live your life and get on...what goes around, comes around and the murderer will get whats coming to them in the end...

I know people will accuse me of "tough talk" but seriously, if you hurt a family member of mine (intentionally and viciously not by accident mind you)- you are not going to see a trial.

In this country it is not good to take the law into your own hands. If they used the word acquitted in the court room, there is nothing you can do, legally.

I dont know much about law but u could kill him and plead insane or whatever he did to get out of it.

uhh did this really happen to you?
if it did i'm really sorry but don't do anything stupid. I would confront the murderer and tell him my feelings. I would probably do my best to have him or her get thrown in to jail.

Yes, it would be alright to take the matters into your own hands - provided that your hand was guided by a mind that is willing to be patient and seek justice by accepting the acquittal through Godly means. God has an uncanny way of dealing with people who try to escape the consequences of their bad behavior. "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord (Romans 12:19)." Interference on our part simply complicates matters.

This would entail the abandonment of revenge. It would also entail a resolution of body, soul, and spirit to allow God to deal with this person. By saying this, I do not mean that one is completely helpless. Rather, people who commit grievous crimes of this nature naturally suffer consequences that most people cannot see or imagine.

If you know who the killer is, you still can play an active role by taking on the mind of a very astute investigator. Go into detail about what the case is missing. What is the lacking evidence? Can it be produced?

Proper justice and retrial are still viable possibilities.

I wouldn't be able to live knowing someone like that got out of killing someone dear to me.
