Supreme Court upheld ban on partial-birth abortion. Is ban on all abortions on its way?

Just want to see what you guys think is coming next to the ballot as the slightly-conservatite court takes its next steps...

Note to contributor Pepper:
all those "barbaric" procedures you listed are all optional. People do that to themselves, not to someone else. You must keep that in perspective if you want to make a coherent argument. I am not saying I am pro-either side.

A lot of us are relieved, because the procedure in question is highly barbaric. If you read up on this procedure, I cannot understand why anyone would feel that this is a good way to terminate a pregnancy. There are other medical options if an abortion is medically necessary.

What gets me on women's rights on this issue is that this only takes into account the mother's rights. There are absolutely zero rights for the baby.

Not a total ban, but possibly overturning Roe v Wade and returning the issue to the states.

I really don't think so. Unless they can come up with a solution that will not take us back to the back alley abortions, I don't see it getting the support.

I hope so if they are to be as greusome as partial-birth abortion.....(To the person who scolded me and said
there was no such thing as partial- birth abortion...it seems
as if the Supreme Court has told you off without me having
to do it)!

He's my world
I HOPE so...I don't think it's right to take an innocent life...If you don't want it, there are many couples that can't have babies and would love to adopt your child...I have a very strong opinion on this beacuse I'm adopted.

I just think some common sense has taken place by the court.

Even if Roe is overturned (which it should be because it is bad law) the issue of abortion will return to the state level where should always have remained in the first place. The Supreme Court will not ban the practice outright.

I don't really think a full ban on all abortions would make it to the supreme court.

Most people don't like having any freedoms taken away from them, they like to be able to decide for themselves.

Being Pro'choice is better because with that thinking you are allowing each mother and possibly father to decide to have an abortion or not. Some will choose to have one, others won't.

But being "pro'life", those people force their ideals upon everyone for the sake of an unborn.

So with these two compared thinkings.....which would you rather choose? let everyone exercise their free will or force people to conform to your ideals? And for those religious among you......God gave us free will, Lucifer wanted to force us all to be good. Remember that.

But yeah, I don't believe people would allow their choice to be taken from them.

SIDE NOTE: yes, I think I just compared pro'life to Lucifer. lol

I sure hope no. Women fought long and hard for the right to choosing what is "in" their bodies. But partial birth is killing the fetus by opening the head, not by terminating a mass of non-viable tissue.

I hope not I think it is wrong to ban all abortions, we don't need back alley doctors again preforming them. It's a women right to choose and I hate to think that forcing a woman to have a baby when she's not ready or finacially able is wrong

Not unless the Republicans weren't satisfied with the backlash in the last election. But, who knows? Maybe they're gluttons for punishment.

Mr. Morden
No because they GOP doesn't want it any more than the DNC does.

That's very doubtful. Too many social problems would be caused by tens of thousands of unwanted babies in the system.

i hope not. abortion is a right to privacy matter that is upheld by the roe v. wade decision. what the supreme court is doing is taking medical matters out of the hands of the doctors and putting it their hands.
