exactly. If a muslim teacher said we could name our teddys Jesus, would there be a fuss? Of course not. Would we be insulted? I wouldnt and I dont think the Church would create a fuss. People are named Jesus and people are named Mohammed. Why not a teddy, or a dog, or a cat? We should pull out of helping the Sudan and let them fend for themselves. |

Unfortunately this sort of thing is far too common. People go to a country and try to help to improve things and this is what happens to them. The people of Sudan deserve nothing, they can take their teddy bear, put it where the sun doesn't shine and rot in their own ignorance ! |

Very sad case....some countries have very troglodyte laws.
This is almost like the case in Saudi,where a woman was raped and she was the one charged to be stoned or put in prison,I can't remember exactly what happened to her.
As a catholic,I wouldn't be offended if you called your teddy God. |

No one would care if you called your Teddy God, Jesus, or Mary.But as usual most Islamic country's will always pick an european infidel to put in jail, flog, chop fingers off, even if as in this case an Islamic Child chose the name NOT the teacher. I think that God, Mohamed, Jesus are sitting in heaven or the Islamic version of heaven or whatever. Are laughing there heads off at how there religious followers treat each other. As they say there is only one God. I'm not religious myself but I don't tell others not to follow there religion. |

Nobody would care if you called a teddy god (or if they were offened they'd ask you to change it not go to the police!) but this culture is so backward that something so innocent is seen as offensive ...this teacher who from the sounds of it is a good, caring woman has been charged with insulting religion and inciting hatred...over a name and that's all it is. |

its ridicules. if you think of it from another point their law intimidates against free thought expression and speech.
remember it is a foreign land with different beliefs and laws. so what you have is a simple error made into a FUBAR.
i read the reports many of the Muslims say let her go it was a mistake and a simple apology is enough. if they charge and find her guilty. then so be it. if they flog her or imprison her then if the pathetic government under Emperor Gordon Brownaparte does not do some thing then it is up to us as citizens of the UK to make our mood and feelings none the Muslim public every time they insult God or Christianity
