My apartment complex is being renovated. The new owners of the complex, I don't trust them. The complex I live on is a Section 8 property which means the rent goes accordingly to your income and HUD pays the rest. My problem is that the new owners are not following the law and guidelines for relocating tenants. Some tenants are scared of the new owners because they've threaten tenants that they are going to be thrown out on the streets if we don't "GO WITH THEW FLOW" and just allow these new owners to IGNORE our tenant rights. We've never received nothing in writing which includes our 190 day notices prior to relocation. The new owners are videotaping tenants apartments to see how people live. They say its for them to make sure that tenants belongings are not damage during the relocation, which is a lie. They've hired a BOGUS moving company that have not only broke tenants property but the movers have STOLEN tenants belongings too. It's more illegal activity but, I'm keeping this short. I'm not moving until I receive something in "WRITING" from the new owners and until they follow the rules and guidelines according to the relocation law. What can I do to get the new owners (President/CEO) to give me something in writing and follow the rules and guidelines so I can be relocated legally?

First lets get away from 'opinion' and down to fact.
What city and state do you live in? Many cities actually have even more stringent regulations governing Section 8 housing than the federal guidelines.
What rules and guidelines are you referring to? Can you link to them? Without knowing any of this, I can't even begin to formulate an intelligent opinion. |
