The speed cameras would continue to rake in fines, the streets would remain empty of patrol officers and god bless us if our homes are burgled and our heads are kicked in on the streets. I do not think they will go on strike, just work to rule. |

Yes we would, and its not the British Police Force, it only forces in England and Wales due to the fact the they are only getting a Paltry 1.9% rise, whereas Scottish Police are getting 2.5% |

Not in this area - might take some heat off the motorists |

Sure you would, the coppers keep the population from flogging the suspicious, burning out the Arabs, and hanging people who speed through school zones. There wouldn't be riots, just a wholesale ethnic cleaning. Miss the cops? They
would be missed plenty, mostly by immigrants. |
|

Ivanhoe Fats
 |
you definitely would |

Yes, we would unfortunately the present government is no different from the last, they expect the services to manage on a finance increase each year which is less than inflation. Sooner or later they say enough is enough. This has been brought about because they are focusing on health and education, the pot has only so many spoonfuls. |

i think we will. i mean, who wouldn miss the endless noise of their sirens as they coyly navigate their way through traffic? |
|

People tend not to miss something until it's gone. In this case, I think that everyone will notice. |

Please tell me that isn't your real picture, Crispy?!!! And they should go on strike if they aren't being paid enough, and you would notice all the chaos if you didn't have the police!!! |
|

|
No they'd send the armed forces in!! Probably get muslims to police us!!!!!! |
|

kitkat
 |
I doubt it very much. The only 'police presence' on the streets these days as those keystone cops the 'Community support officers' or whatever they are called. We are doomed I tell you...DOOOOOMED!!!! |

They can't strike - they're not allowed to.
They are proposing industrial action, which is something completely different. |
|

They are not allowed to strike and if by some chance they did of course you would notice. |
|

Oh you would. The last time the p[olice were on strike I think in 1919 I am told it was bloody awful. I really men bloody |

They provide a vital service, and expect to be treated fairly. I do not support their Aims to have the right to go on Strike. Nor would I support the Armed Forces such means of Negotiating a wage rise . The only option open to them should be notice of resignation. |

who cares |

Northern Lad

No.
They only react instantly to burglary etc, if the person is rich or a well known personality.
If they go on strike I won`t notice one bit, not one iota. |

The Police are not allowed, by act of Parliament, to go on strike. Furthermore, they have been offered a pay deal, in line with inflation, JUST THE SAME AS EVERYBODY ELSE.
Why should the Police be any different to health service workers, the armed forces or the Fire and Rescue Service????
They should take their pay rise and be flaming grateful for it. Their job is no more dangerous than mine is and I work in a hospital. |
|

neogriff
 |
Of course we would notice - who would shoot innocent bystanders in their abscence? |
|

jamand
|
NOPE - they are bloody useless - as for the comments above about seeing one if you were burgled - I'd like to know where he lives - where I live if you get burgled they don't even bother coming out - they just give you a crime number and tell you to claim on your insurance.
Let them strike without pay - they'll soon go back to work when they can't pay their bills. |
