Yup. If it's your own car it's fine, anything else would be a breach of human rights (even though I think smoking is disgusting). The law only applies to company and rental cars. I wouldn't advise throwing a cigarette butt out the window though, as you can get fined Â£80 for that on the spot according to the new law.

They should be making real laws not targetting the tax payer, honestly....

yes you can smoke in your own car and your friends can smoke in there to it's not illegal . it's only in company cars, van's, lorries etc so stop worrying .

It is legal to smoke in your own car, own home, own property and open public areas.
Dont try and stop her or she may dump ya! lol.

at the moment you are but there is talk about stopping that as well so enjoy it while you can.

the goverment only banned smoking because hardly anyone pays tax on cigarettes any more .they get duty frees.yes you can smoke in your own car.if smeone dosnt like it chuck them out.

Yes, but not in any areas where the car may go or park that is under a smoking ban, such as a hospital carpark.

You are fine smoking within your own vehicle. In fact smoking in cars went up 14% in Scotland when they introduced the ban. The new law only comes into play if you have a company vehicle.

I don't know what state or country you are in but if it isn't illegal yet expect it soon.

In La. it is illegal for someone to smoke in their vehicle if they have a child that needs a child seat a $250 fine PER CHILD. I guess they care about the toddlers but don't really give a **** about the school age children but that is obvious from the educational system.

I pose the question why are officers allowed to smoke in their police units, or any government employee who drives a public vehicle.

It isn't about your health it is a WAR ON PERSONAL FREEDOM, keep that in mind at all times, thank you.

Washington State has some really screwed up smoking laws.
