I am a new graduate nurse amongst 40 other new grads who are trying to find jobs. Our local hospital posted some positions and most of my friends were called back for all of us to take a pre-test to determine if we are qualified for a panel interview.
The people that were qualified was told immediately after the test and was able to set up an interview.
But when I finished my test they told me that they have to wait for my results and that they will not find out until later. Well after 3 days I went back and she said the same thing and told me how they have to wait for it to process and stuff...so I wouldn't find out until wednesday (2 days from now).
Its pissing me off because, if I didn't pass, why can't she just tell me that? I already know about 5 people who got results within 5 minutes after they took there exam.
2 of my friends didn't pass and was told that, but another weird thing is that they told another girl that she did pass, but said all interview times have been filled. Although people who took the pre-interview test days after her, was offered interview times.
In my situation, I took my test right after my friend was told that interview times were filled, but after i finished my test, the nurse recruiter told me that she'll find out my results and call me back. But the weird thing, is that if I do get a call there are still appointments for interviews open on such and such days...
Why would the nurse recruiter lie to my friend about having no more times even if she passed, or in my case possibly be lying that it takes a while to process my test???
Just a little info about the exam, it was more of a "agree/disagree" exam for situations or personal experience. The exam never asked anything personal such as social security, Drivers license...

Most companies never inform unsuccessful applicants. How ever, if you write to the personnel department asking for your results, they may well respond and tell you where you went wrong.
However, do bear in mind that these types of pseudo-psychological tests are rarely relevant to the job and are used because someone has found them in a text books somewhere. They're generally pointless, and if a company uses the results to decide you aren't suitable, they probably aren't very good to work for. |
