It has been convienently forgotten by the public-- but there still remains the Fact that Bush made a deal with the Saudis -- that said-- hold prices down until I take the election and then you can do as you feel with the price !!--- It has been documented in at least three seperate books that this deal actually DID take place !! AND take a look at the FACT that exactly one month to the day that the man took the oath of office---- gas prices jumped from a basic $1.19 per gallon to somewhere near $ 1.60 per gallon and have been going up in increments ever since !!! And, you haven't heard him say a single negative word about it at all ---and you never will !!!! |

The President was elected fair and square. Now I'm sure even you can understand supply and demand. It's a simple concept. Don't you think its great that you can drive as much as you like in your big SUV or vehicle of your choice. More people are traveling both by air and land. Its a booming economy. |

if it's true then all be damned
You mean to tell me gas prices were just 1.50 a gallon in 2001
WOW what the hell happened? What are the prices going to be in another 6 years. 5 bucks a gallon |
|

gman992
 |
Actually, gas prices went down considerable this past fall and winter. As the summer approaches, more people are going to be travelling, going on vacation, so the demand is going to be more, hence the price is going to go up. Besides I thought that we invaded Iraq so that gas prices would go down? Take a course in economics and think for yourself. |

Gas prices are lower now than they were in the late 70's when adjusted for inflation. Guess who was president then? The infamous Jimmy Carter, one of YOUR people. |

False......
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, S t. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2; Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in
government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."
We are at fault for the price of gas because we continue to buy from the companies that charge the most. If we made a point to always buy from the station with the lowest price then it would force a price war which would drive down the price of gas. |

Bush did not steal office. |

Remember how before we went into Iraq the gov. and media kept saying that we were going to have lower gas??? And that Iraq was going to flourish with the moeny from their oil revenue?? we have yet to see that happen......its incredible how people just ignore the lies and think it was ok. |

screw you....George W. Bush does not control oil prices and you trying to connect the two shows your level of arrogance. Take an economics class and you will understand why prices have gone up... |

Gas prices have truly doubled since bush stole office, it also seems that in some cities they have at leasted tripled. Gas used to be about 1.75 in my town and now it's 3.50 so indeed gas prices have skyrocketed |

Stole Office? Obviously you are a communist. Do you have any idea what the market forces behind gas prices are or are you shooting off your liberal yap without knowing what you are talking about just like the rest of your bleeding heart ilk?
Next time, have some idea of what you are spouting off about before you make a fool of yourself in a public forum for all the world to see. Psst don't look now, but your ignorance is showing.. |

No, you pinhead. Gas prices have not doubled since president Bush took office.
The national average price of a gallon of self-service regular was $1.52 in December 2000.
The average cost today is $2.54. In Indiana where I live, it's less than that!
Think about it... it took nearly 8 years to rise less than $ 1. Holy crap, you are a whiner.
Gasoline prices in the United States, which have recently hit record highs, are actually much lower than in many countries. Drivers in some European cities, like Amsterdam and Oslo, are paying nearly 3 times more than those in the U.S.
The main factor in price disparities between countries is government policy. Many European nations tax gasoline heavily, with taxes making up as much as 75 percent of the cost of a gallon of gasoline.
In a few Latin America and Middle-East nations, such as Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, oil is produced by a government-owned company and local gasoline prices are kept low as a benefit to the nation's citizens.

Then I guess it wasn't a war for oil like you libs were crying about. You should be proud that gas prices are this high. Your liberal buddies are doing their job. |
|

let's clear things up. First there are many factors that determine oil prices, the biggest factor is OPEC. An organization whose members dislike the US. Also oil companies and the media like to use scare tactics such as war to boost prices as well.
Secondly, Bush didn't steal office, 51% of registered voters voted for him so what does that tell you.
Lastly, if your so concerend about gas prices rising then try and reduce the amount you drive. |
|

aaron b
|
false.. first bush didn't steal the office.. and they have gone up which really upsets me, but it is not all due to bush!! There are several factors to this.. a big one is the environmental idiots out there who argue and complain about having us drill for oil in alaska and other places. This would allow us to get our own oil and not have to pay for it.. But nobody wants this to happen due to the negative effects on the environment!! |
|

Jacob W

False. Bush did not steal office. Gore tried to steal it but his plan did not work. Remember, dispite all the retoric, no matter how many times the votes in Florida were recounted Gore never came out ahead. Not one time.
According to the Florida State Constitution just as in all state constitutions and the U.S. Constitution, the judicary has no role in elections. If Al Gore or anyone else had a dispute he should have taken it to the State Legislature. The court should not have even listened to him let alone rule. Their error forced the U.S. Supreme Court to rule not who won the election but that the State Supreme Court had no jurisdiction.
There are three equal branches of governement. Elections are controlled by the legislative branch. |
