I filled for the fed extension here in Ohio. I had used all my initial benefits and had not received payment since may 2008. However since the i have worked two jobs I was fired from one due to attendance which I had a sick son. The other job fired me due to having a child in Jan. they are saying that I don't qualify because i was fired for just cause from the first employer i mentioned here does anyone understand that? That has nothing to do with me never being able to obtain FT since starting unemployment does it ?

ok well then the other job that i had was the last one i had had and they fired me for having a baby so ......

You answered the question yourself.
You used all of your benefit, claim closed.
You then found new jobs are were fired for cause. The job prior to the first claim does not count anymore. Wages might be used to calculate your new claim.
I really don't understand how they fired you for having a baby???? |

It could be that you are fit, able to work, there are jobs available and it's time for you to support yourself. |

You would have had to work 26 weeks in the last year and not get fired to qualify. |

If you are fired for just cause, in this case, failing to show up for work, you do not qualify for unemployment. |

well unemployment gives money to people who get laid off and fired for no good reason. if the reason isnt totally true then u wouldnt qualify, like if ur old boss has a diff story. another one is they only pay up to three months worth of unemployment work like u get laid they help for three months in time unless u are actually trying to find more work not just taking the benefits. So mainly there are like so many people out there that have lost their jobs because they got laid off due to the economy, so maybe rather been waiting for a pay check since jan. u should go get another job? |
