I'm a Foreman and use my van for work my company pays gas and oil changes. I had a hit and run. ($1800.00) Can I make my company liable for it?

Sounds like you agreed that they would pay gas and oil but nothing about damages. Do you have insurance? They should cover the cost. I dont see the company being liable for this. |

Most businesses are vicariously liable for damages when the driver of the vehicle is on company business. They would not be liable, say, if you were using the same vehicle while taking your wife out to dinner and an accident occurred, but they would be liable if the same accident occurred while you were enroute to serve a client.
The problem here is that the vehicle was damaged by someone who left the scene and cannot be located. In order for you or the company to get direct compensation for the damage, you have to find the perpetrator of it. In your case, the best thing to do is contact your insurer and ask the same question. Depending on the percentage of time the vehicle is used for company business, your insurer may tell you that the company's insurer will pay.
