Victum of theft 3 times.need advice?

This person broke in my home stolen a few things and cut my cats throat-my cat died,police was call,I was worried he would come after me and my children,police said could not protect me.then week later the same person did it again.I called the police.I had idea who it was.I told them everything all they said we can question him.After no one getting my things back I decided to find my things.I found a person that helped steal and showed me where my things are told police did nothing state police found one thing of mine in a drug bust.told me not to worry it is in good hands and they will call when released I called several times then last time I called they said oh I am sorry we sold it.what is right/wrong here.state police and 2 other police departments knew who i was,how to contact me.And for the person that stolen off me never got in trouble.I don't think that this is right!And insurance never did pay anything to this day.Can anyone steal from me and get by with it?

Three things:
1. MOVE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION- if u got robbed twice why stay in the same place?
2. HIRE A VERY GOOD LAWYER- he is the only one that can win your case.
3. SOME POLICE CAN BE CORRUPT

The story about your cat is horribly sad. This is a ruthless person who is not afraid to kill. If you can move, do it. If not get the best security system you can afford. I would also get a large dog for protection and apply for a gun permit. You are within your rights to defend your property. And finally, call the DA and the sheriff's office. Tell them what you have told us. I would call them and call them until something is done.

Your best move is to move or at a minimun make it hard for anyone to break in. Keep your possessions concealed and don't let anyone in your home or even see inside of your home (out of sight, out of mind- thieves go for the easiest target). Get a bad dog (even a Labrador is a deterant to theives and still good with kids), theives usually will not mess with a dog. Don't count on the police to help you, it's easier for them to go after harmless citizens than hardened criminals.

Shucks, I don't know what to tell you but that the cops arn't doning their job where you live. No people are not aloud to get away when they steal from some one because it is just wrong. I don't know what to tell you though. Sorry, hope things get better for you and they will eventually arrest that guy....same type of thing is happening where I live but the entire neighborhood (which used to be a nice little country club neighborhood) is now being terrorized by this dude.

I don't know the full story here, but this sounds awful. Why would anyone kill your cat?? That's terrible!
My advice: MOVE!!!
Wherever you are living now, it is obviously NOT SAFE, and that's been proven- ANYWHERE is better than where you live now.
2) If the police won't help, contact a newspaper, they can print your story and make the police look like a**holes for not helping you, and selling the one item they DID recover. In our country, we have ways of facing injustice, and the media is one of them.

3) Whatever you're doing in your life, you need to make some major changes. What you're doing now is obviously not working for you.

Raise h*ll about it! Call anyone who'll listen. The police have no right to do this. Also, try to make your home more secure. How did he get in? Make sure he can't do that again--change the locks, make sure there aren't any windows he could break and get in that way, or get an alarm system. A lot of people are saying get a dog, but I don't know--most of the dogs I've met love strangers as much as family. It might have to be a trained guard dog to be any good. Besides, we already know this sicko is armed and willing to kill animals.

Typically it's hard to get police to do their job when there's no money in it for the department or the city. They'll write tickets all day but when it comes actually thawrting real crime they lack the motivation.

You should take a course on hand guns and get one.
