I figured that it wasn't true since it was sent by someone that I don't have listed as a contact. I got mine five minutes ago, but I don't believe it. and just came online to see if there were any news flashes regarding 3 women being shot at walmart; there weren't. Some people seriously need to get lives. What loser spends all their time sending stupid, false texts like that?
I should add that I live in southern California. It's fake. And if it weren't, police have the resources that would have allowed them to trace the source; at least I would think so considering that virtually every little conversation and text - regardless of deletion - is recorded. As far as how accessable those recordings are, I don't know. This person can be prosecuted if tracked. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure this would be a text violating the "clear and present danger" ruling associated with Schneck v. US. The example I know of is, for instance, shouting "fire!" in a crowded theater can be restricted.
Plus: yours said the 18th, mine said it was to happen tonight, the 19th. They made the exact walmart uncertain just to allow the "panic" to be as widespread as possible. In addition, mine says that the threat was "confirmed on tv". Which it wasn't. The TEXTS were confirmed, but the threat itself was not. |

Geez.......people jump at any sound.I had some people I work with call and ask me to spread the rumor to all my co-workers at the prison facility I work at.I did not.I went to Wal-Mart and spent 30 minutes walking around.LMAO! Was there anything to fear?Yes....stupidity! I've seen people say,"I don't believe it but, just to be safe,I'm not going."Hahahaha.They DID believe it.People, you should be careful everyday,everywhere.People get killed everyday.Stop looking for ghosts.If you got such a text everyday, would you hide inside your homes indefinitely? I got a few text a couple hours ago(in AZ).. actually while i was getting ready to go to walmart... I needed to go to walmart, my sons bday is tomorrow and needed a few things.. so I went anyway.. ya i was looking over my sholder and didnt waste any time in parking lot.. but I was not letting some text scare me into not going.. |

but idk
my friends saw it on the kansas news so im still looking it up but
DONT GO TO WALMART JUST INCASE!

It isn't a hoax. I'm waiting to hear details but apparently 2 hispanic women were shot in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Rockford, IL yesterday. I think people should pay attention & just be aware. They (Wal-mart) received a threat sometime today that they were going to shoot 3 more this afternoon. I'm waiting to hear the news later. |

Same text here- and my sister also got the same one but after another that said "two arrested so far for threatening but still many members out there." And i live in Salt Lake City so.... definately fake. Once again, just google it. All the sites say it's fake. |

I live in Norman, Ok...just south of OKC and just got the same texts. How stupid. No, I didn't forward it. I did, however, tell the 3 people who sent it to me that it's a hoax and a play off of an Urban Legend. Get real people. It's not gonna happen. Anywhere. |

it might not be true, but as much as its going around, it might get in the hand of a crazy person.... im not going and i dont care who thinks is true or false..... they have so many crazy stupid ppl in this world that might want to make it true. f*** that im not takin a chance.... walmart aint that important to me.. and all these ppl who say its not true and that ppl are stupid to be scared, all it takes is one physco person to pull some crazy s*** like this... plz everyone be careful. |

I live in VA and I just got a phone call from my husband about 20 mins ago about this. He said a friend called him up who got the text and he begged me not to go to wal-mart and to look it up. I told him it's a hoax but told him I wouldn't go if it made him feel better. (what is one day after all?)
The point is this. This is texting terrorism. It has done its job and struck terror into the population. Whoever started this hoax, (if found) could go to prison depending on state laws. It might take some time, but valuable resources and manpower will be used up to help slake fears, and officials aren't likely to let this one slide if they can catch who started it. |

Yes it is possibile, they can be charge,i don't think it would be critical charges, but they can be charge, but they always have some legends going around just to start a panic,i wouldn't worry myself about it, but i will still becareful of my surroundings,I have family in texas,mississippi,chicago,and im from louisiana and we all got the text message.but its nothing to stress over,if it was that serious then the president wound make an announcement about that.and honestly i don't think they would be able to track down who started this foolishness,they would have to go through each state phone records to see and that would take a very very very long time. |
