Was i discriminated against? tanning salon wants to sue me!!!!?

there is a RUDE sign at the tanning salon..."weight limit 285 pounds". the girl at the counter actually had the audacity to aks me how much i weighed! she started ranting about the acrylic bed has a maximum limit of 285 #.
i fibbed and told her i weigh 283 pounds. no one understands. the tanning bed is for medical purposes, it helps to keep the yeast infection i have under my rolls under control. i only weigh a little over, 302 pounds. i'm real tall and well proportioned so i look good. i didn't distribute my weight evenly and the bed cracked...i say the crack was already there and they are trying to use me as the patsy. i think this is total discrimination!!!! what are my options here...besides hiring an attorney? i want them to SUFFER. can someone help me? thanks in advance.

Any hoo, you can easily say you weighed 285 lbs last week, but with your monthly coming up, you packed on a few pounds and didnt realize it. It's their obligation to weigh you if they feel their equipment is in danger. If a midget chick got on and only weighed 150 lbs, but she was like 3 ft tall, the weight wouldnt be evened out and the bed would break. I bet you look hott for your bady type. fat chicks are where its at. My girlfriend Tina rocks the rolls. Since this is for a medical thing, I think you need to get your medical insurance involved. That weight limit was determined within some margin of acceptable load. When the bed was designed, they used some safety factor when deciding what capacity to list, and I suspect that it should be such that a mere 15 pounds wouldn't be enough to fail it.

Were there a crack present already, that would create a stress concentration around the crack, causing the bed to fail at a lower weight. Also, not spreading your weight evenly would concentrate the load, which could cause problems. But if there were no signs, and no assistance regarding the proper way to get in and out of the bed, that's hardly your fault.

These are the factory recommended guidelines regarding the safe and appropriate usage of the product.

That's just the way it is. There are weight/height restrictions regarding many things in life, get use to it.

you lied to them, tanning beds do have weight limits and if you were honest in the first place and they let you use the bed then they could not hold you liable, but you lied so they can hold you liable. Its your word against theirs.

Well if they did say that the limit was 285, it was. That's their choice. It's not discriminating, that's just all that their equipment can handle. So, when you lied and then broke their stuff, then they do have the right to sue you. There is really not all that much you can do. All they will ask is did you lie, and then to prove it they can weigh you. Sorry!

Assuming you are serious and not a troll, I'd make them suffer by sitting in their lounge in a thong bikini.

Spray plenty of Lysol on fold mold, and you should be good to go.

Why don't you use a stand up bed? If this really is true then they probably have a video of you coming in the door and you are liable. Sorry but the limit is there for a reason.

The weight limit is there for a reason. You lied about your weight, stating that you were just under the limit whereas you really are 17 lbs over the limit.

If you want to sue them you could sue them for the fact that they didn't check your weight and that they believed you so that next time you go, they will be able to embarrase you in public and ask you to stand on a set of scales and confirm that you are under their weight limit.

Get a life, lose some weight and stop using the "no one understands" excuse. They have the right to sue and I hope they do.
