What are some ways to escape the rat race? hippie commune, monastery, hermit, suicide?
Suppose your someone whos sick of the whole "Girls Gone Wild" values and ethics of our age and need an escape. What are some options?
I'm not a Catholic, but they seem to have the most $$$ to support me in a monastery. But converts have to wait 5 years before becoming monks.
Hippie communes are attractive, but they have limited capital and there are few in the USA. Though I suppose with my income I could collect medicaid and benefits.
I dont have enough $$ to be a hermit.
hmmm ways to escape
Suicide is pretty attractive, except I'm afraid that I will mess it up and just blow my face off and survive. I get real pissed off when people call suicide cowardly, because its not facing challenges. Swimming across the Atlantic ocean is challenging, but its not my duty to do it, so Im not a coward for not swimming. I cant see any reason to be attached to this world.
We have every right to demand a perfect world of this universe. And if we dont have it, theres no reason to live in it.
I suppose I could always check myself into a mental institution and never check out

Save enough money to buy some land away from the city and get off of the grid. Revert back to self support. Grow your own fruits and veggies. Raise your own livestock. Hunt for other food. Only go into town when you need supplies and pay cash only! Sell excess food to get money. Check out the book called "Back to Basics" It is put out by readers digest. It will explain everything you need to know. Its not some loony survivalist manual or anything. Its a reference book. |
