Fines, community service, jail time (prison time) and/or death.
Becoming an outcast with regard to the community.
Loss of certain rights and/or privileges.
Any immediate repercussions at the time the noncompliance occurred (i.e. if you exceed the speed limit and crash your vehicle as a result).
Stricter laws being enacted or greater punishment being dealt out to new and repeat offenders. |

Non compliance to set laws ought be enforced, but without bias. There ought to be equality across the board. The prisons are full of lower income citizens: the percentages are staggering! |

there are a number of consequences of not conforming to the law. Obviously there is incarceration and fines. But one of the most under looked consequences of nonconformity is the ability to challenge the law and possibly changing it or having the law struck down. This doesn't mean that you will be successful but it is one way to change things by using "the system". |

As one passes GO enroute to jail, without collecting $200 dollars, often the realizaton of one's mistake settles in like an unwanted fever blister perched there for all the world to see. |

Consequences may include a fine only, or fine and jail incarceration for certain misdemeanors or fine and prison incarceration for felonies, or even Execution if you live in a capital punishment state. Also, most misdemeanors and many felonies can often result in probation. The consequences are typically determined by a consideration of the criminal act itself, the motivation for the act, and any defenses to prosecution (i.e. self-defense). |
