What are the arguments for people against tobacco regulation?

Well tobacco is taxed so heavily, and is relied on by the government to fund many programs, but with this new tax, it's gettong unaffordable, what will happen when people quit? The government is not going to just take a cut like that, they will either make a new tax, raise property tax, so the people that are against tobacco, can thank themselves when they have to pay higher taxes, besides that look at all the unhealthy choices people make everyday, why is tobacco being attacked so much? Why does it matter to you what smokers choose to do, it is our freedom to. We might as well get rid of fast food chains, and tax the obese more, since obesity is a rising factor of huge health problems, and death. The list can go on and on about unhealthy choices and why people shouldn't make them, but we cant force everybody to live the perfect life and we shouldn't expect it, I think smokers have sacrificed enough, where I live the only place we can smoke is in our house, cars, and some places outside, most can't even smoke at work anymore, so what else do you want, look where smoking was even 20, 30 years ago where you could smoke anywhere including airplanes, and look where it's at now so leave tobacco alone, and thank god were supporting a big chunk of tax money so you don't have to

Because it is a legal product and people have the right to decide for themselves what they put into their bodies. It is regulated and taxed far too much!

My tobacco company stocks will go down.

Tobacco workers will have to be let go, increasing unemployment.

The population will rise, since people will live longer.

One of the main reasons is, it's not going to cut down on the use of tobacco, and the bill was never intended to do so, it is only giving the already federal government more power to regulate your lives and an open door to tax even more.
Look around you friend, and try to find something that is not being regulated by our government, and if you're lucky enough to find something, please keep it quiet or they will surely pass law soon to cover any thing missed, along with more taxes.

it just seems like they are targeting this minority for whatever reason yet, people can buy alcohol, become addicted and destroy their bodies just as bad. Same thing can be said for fast food. It's discrimination.
