I"m having a baby. the father of my child and i broke up after i found out i was. he wants nothing to do with this baby at all and i tried to contact him like a social worker told me to do and him and his parents want to try to press charged against me for harassment. they dont want me talking to him until its born and i get a dna test done and they want me to pay for it? what right will he have and how might all of this child support and visitation rights go about along with the dna testing?

Do not listen to his parents, it sounds like he is not man enough to step up and take responsibility for his actions and letting his mommy do the work
That said, if in your opinion he is the father, you are not required to pay for a DNA test, when the child is born and you reasonable opinion he is the father that is all that is needed to place him on the birth certificate and then liable for child support
Going forward, he will have to step up and pay child support, if he feels he is not the father then at his or his parents expense he can get a DNA test, toward visitation unless he is an unfit parent will be entitled to see his child, now the condition of the visitation will be up to the courts, but obviously younger the child the more time it needs with the mother, then what type of home environment he has to offer
But one thing going forward, once he is named the baby father he needs to step up, you do not need to communicate with his parents, they have no standing in this fight, he will have to talk to you and pay support or he will end up in jail that is reality the sooner he accepts it’s the better and the sooner his parents realize this as well the better |
