What can I do about the bullying neighbors?

What can I do about the bullying neighbors?

We've always tried to be good, rightful neighbors but every time we make one tiny little mistake (and I mean petty), our neighbors on both sides of our home, call the cops (in random). They could easily come over here and talk to us about whatever we're supposedly doing wrong but they don't. They both trying to find little things to make our life a living he**. What can we do about this? We're tired of being bullied and want it to stop. I want to give them a taste of their own medicine b/c we don't deserve this. We can't even breathe over here without getting in trouble for some unknown reason. We haven't done anything wrong to get this type of treatment. One of the next door neighbors harassed my sister for parking near their home. Hef car was too "trashy" for their taste and they tried to make her move. Legally, she did nothing wrong and we even asked the city police to verify. Anyways, what can I do? We can't even breathe over here! Every time me, my hubby, and baby get out and try to enjoy life (like a simple walk in the park, ect.) then 1-2 days later, they ruin it for us.

First of all, if your neighbors are calling the police to report you for things that aren't against the law, you should complain when the police show up that the police are helping your neighbors harass you. Call the police station and talk to a supervisor about it. Right now, the neighbors are the squeaky wheel to the police -- it's easier for them to just give in to the ridiculous complaints and go over and bother you, than to stand up to your neighbors. You need to start complaining to the police about THEIR behavior.

Our neighbors complained about a car we had parked on the street; a police person actually showed up about it and I asked if there was a law against parking on the street... and the police officer got pretty embarassed about it. And that was just ONCE. So yeah, this does happen.

If it continues, consult a lawyer: if the police are unwilling to stop responding to frivolous complaints, they are complicit in harassment and could probably be sued.

The problem is that they call the cops on you. OK, well if these are petty little tiny (and you mean petty) mistakes, those cops must be pretty annoyed with your neighbors.

This story is a hard swallow, honey.

The fact that both neighbors are reporting you to the police leads me to believe there is way more to this story than you've provided.

The police don't usually answer (repeatedly) nonsense calls, so if they are coming out to your house every 1-2 days, something is truly wrong.

Sounds like you're leaving out some information. Your neighbors can't just call the police for no reason, they would get in trouble for reporting a non-issue. There must be something that caused your neighbors to dislike you and not want to speak to you. Guess it's time for you to move.

Both neighbors? Something in your tale is missing like what you are doing to get them to call the police and what the legal consequences have been when the police have tired of UNPROVEN complaints by them.

Seems like you need to move or learn to ignore them or better yet have a cookout and invite everyone over for hotdogs and beer!

1. Write them a letter and tell them how you feel.

2. Set up a place and time where you can all meet and talk about it. Not at a house, but like a park or somewhere to eat.

3. Don't just sit back and let them keep doing that to you. It will get worse.

4. They may not know you at all. So tell them about yourself.

5. Be a better person than they are and be friendly.

Good luck.

Have the strongest person you know talk to them. Some people are really evil. You might have to move if your neighborhood is scum.

Unless you want to get tangled up in a big mess that will go on for quite a while, there is very little that you can do other than: don't make any mistakes, ignore them or move. People like that thrive on conflict and chaos and if you get tangled up with them, nobody wins.

thats sad . you should try moving

Ignore them.

If it's a frivolous complaint the cops get tired of coming out.

If it's noise - then, well... wear a headset for your music.

The only thing that will make a car trashy is a lack of a valid license plate. If it's plated, it's legal and it's fine.

Good luck.

this always works every opportunity you have piss them off call the police on them ***** and complain too them constantly...like they forget too mo their lawn call the cops and say it ruins the look of your property and your pist.

Without resorting to violence (more my style), turn the tables on them and do what they do, call the cops on every little things or you can call the County Environmental Department and tell them you saw them burying barrells in the back yard then watch the **** hit the fan!
