Treat others how you would like to be treated yourself.
Respect yourself and your environment.
Think that's it.
I think you naturally know basic right from wrong by say 6-8 years old, and then after that the more you think about what is right and wrong helps you form your own morals. I believe your morals are the only things that make up your person/ persona, that you can truly have a choice in.
Obviously my upbringing is some factor in it |

Well I would say it's based on my upbringing. But also doing the right thing.
I strongly believe in the saying, a man without his word has nothing. Or something similar to that. |

Ultimately morality has to have a moral authority. Just knowing what to do is not enough. The source of knowledge as to right and wrong has to have the authority to obligate us to do the right thing.
People cite conscience but conscience alone is just a set of feelings. No one is obligated to a feeling.
My morality:
1) Love your neighbor. This is the right thing to do.
2) The Golden Rule. This is how we determine the right thing to do.
3) God is the moral authority to Whom I have an obligation to obey. |

One bright and shining light,
That taught me wrong from right;
I found in my mother's eyes...
and,
Seek first the rule of Love, and all things will fall into place. |
